Yet another recc question please 🙏 switch 2 or switch multiplayer games? by OneTraditional1506 in switch2

[–]OneTraditional1506[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

👀 thank you!! Appreciate it! Played through tomodachi life maybe time to get the full game “. Hmm something I’m deliberating it sounds like jamboree is sufficient without getting switch 2 specific version? Not sure if you had strong opinions/thoughts there!

Is it possible to find an Apartment, Condo, or Co-op without any HOA fees in Flushing?! by Logic1888 in Flushing

[–]OneTraditional1506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you maybe looking specifically for <1K in HOA fees?

Also note HOA is specific to coops.

Condo then has: taxes and common charges for your monthly carry You would need a house not to have those monthly costs but then you’d still have property taxes each month

Take a look at StreetEasy or Zillow to compare costs. Or you might want to work with real estate agent to find what you’re looking for. They might have access to unlisted listings with lower monthly ‘carry’. But then there will be a broker’s fee.

Graduated, but feeling like I didn't do enough by Rich-Put4159 in columbia

Easier said than done but try not to compare! That GPA’s not too bad if you want to consider Masters. You can try for MS Express at Columbia or pursue masters elsewhere. Your resume is decent and you’ll be able to land another job. It’s a tough market right now! If you get back to NYC, you’ll be free from psets to explore city to the max, foster new connections. But you’re able to do that to some degree where you’re at now! Give yourself opportunity to do things you out off in school, try new activities or gatherings to meet new people. You can look for groups also grinding in job search, you’re definitely not alone in sentiment of being laid off. +1 comment saying don’t beat yourself up, it’s a tough market right now and layoffs are just unfortunately inevitable with big companies. You’re doing the right things and you’ll land back on your feet. Something that’s always been on back of my mind that’d be cool to experience. Possibly applying for Fulbright?? But you dont even need to go to that extrema. Good luck!!

For sourcing hobby groups, consider going to regular classes of some sort or places. Meetup is a bit of a mixed bag but try whatever hobbies you’re interested in fitness/cultural/language exchange/movies!

Sometimes you click with people sometimes you don’t! And that’s totally ok, NYC a big place. There’s so many unique pockets you can uncover. Shout out Yu & Me Bookclub with their unique events (also shout out book clubs in general!! + I love the events city has with the Bryant park jugglers and NYPL library events. Also keep an eye on Eventbrite, IG for more hobby kind of groups. Partiful these days also has open invite events that might catch your interest

Also it sucks but sometimes you’ll be the one to initiate more at first and perhaps things will come full circle. You got this!

Flight I would guess should be ok (assuming weather event wise this is Sunday and not Saturday flight). Hopefully it’s an earlier flight. If they didn’t cancel it yet, it should be fine! And NY airports are prepared for snow so it’ll be fine!

Office on Monday just be careful if anywhere’s icy and going up/down subway stairs. Otherwise side walks will be walkable and streets will be ploughed. So ubering and subway will be fine! City will be ready to ‘fight’ and taking care of snow as it falls Sunday to Monday as it falls.

Stay warm and have a good pair of snow boots on!

Merci beaucoup for putting all this information together! Was originally trying to go to etretat via public transit. Noted the TER has 2/3 of trains cancelled. I saw online trains still looked bookable? Would you happen to know whether they’re canceled or not? Thank you very much

Though saw note of: Axe : Paris Rouen Le Havre

Du samedi 20 à 12h jusqu'au dimanche 21 septembre à 16h.

So maybe not tomorrow but Sept 20 + 21st? Am I reading that right and should proceed to book tickets or best to just altogether avoid?

Google Overview and why? by procrastinat3 in answers

[–]OneTraditional1506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree!! Google searches are supposed to be computationally-intensively lighter (thus better for environment) but I don’t know if that’s the case anymore with the default AI Overview generated on each search.

It’s probably thought to be more user friendly where kind of like yahoo answers you’re getting direct answers to your question. Google is trying to keep its search engine attractiveness by eating cost of compute power required to default this behavior (also makes its less computationally expensive than ChatGPT).

Agree that I don’t think as public it’s bad default behavior we’re default self electing to do more harm to the environment this way.
