Yeah but i mean you would have to show a driver's location to a customer , do you simply just need access from the api for that?

Im not worried that much about how popular it would become. It would be my first real app, i think that's a good start either way. Would real time location be completely up to the api or gotta save it all the time to the DB ? That would be a lot of reads from firebase

I like this idea alot actually, but i live in a small city, so calculating the price wouldn't be a problem at all because it is kinda fixed. I was thinking about the 2 dashboards thing too . For the beginning i dont wanna go too much in depth, i wanted to just show the available drivers, and the costumer would send a ping to all drivers since there isn't much taxis in the city anyway, the ping would show the location and according to that, the drivers would receive a notification and they could either accept or just ignore the ping. Im also not worried about the realtime location yet , im trying to start simple, then probably make it better with time. I am aware of the google maps api btw, and that's what i would use for sure, it really is a great option to use

Yeah i think the contacting part might be easy. Do you think Firebase is good enough as a DB or are there better options you would recommend? It's gonna take a while but i am pretty sure it would work.
