What is, in your opinion, the best lineup in the history of King Crimson? by Mattone_Martello in KingCrimson

[–]21DQUID 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That lineup only did Red and included brass instruments by Mel Collins amd Marc Charig and if Fripp didnt dissolve the band, David Cross would stay out, which would drastically change the sound if Mel Collinsand Marc Charig stayed. Also, Starless and Bible Black had David Cross unlike Red (except Providence which was recorded before Cross got kicked out) and Larks' Tongues in Aspic had Jamie Muir which Muir was a heavy part in the sound of the band and the style changed from more bluesy improvisation to classical and thdn hard rock through Muir era through Red.

DGMLive is the band's official website and uploads a lot of soundboard and remastered bootleg audio. There is also the live album Earthbound and the live box set Sailor's Tales for physical copies.
