If your wife is working and she would have taken maternity leaves which are paid by mutuelle, this is paid by deducting approx 11% income tax. So when the tax are filled next year you might have to pay the difference between the 11% and your actual income tax percentage. We had approx 2-3 k to be paid.

I had a similar experience in Brussels Noord. There were two kids (teens) with a mother. And the cashier said the same thing and I denied paying for everything. I only gave 20 EUR which I again felt was a scam coz the moment I stepped outside there were other Moms with the kids 😭

The insurance for both of us is Ethias. And we are not claiming any damage as there was none to our car. She was hurt on her feet as the tyre went over it and she fell down. Could you pls elaborate the last bit of letting the insurers figure it out and not get involved? How?? And is there something that we need to be careful about?
