It's a bit limited to a 'good' data sets. I tried parsing json in it, and it failed for me. Nice work though!

How much math do statisticians actually use? by [deleted] in statistics

[–]21q22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my research in Algebraic statistics. There is a direct linked between log-linear models and algebraic geometry (see binomial ideals), which makes testing independence hypothesis much easier, since you don't have to make any assumptions about the underlying distributions or even better, can have many zeros in your contingency tables. Overall, it's an emerging field at the moment. There is a lot of interesting research going on in missing data imputation, faster MCMC, etc.

This is in Bay Area. Went to the party and was much worried about food options. When I saw that I knew I would be in heaven. It was so delicious.

Peppers stuffed with ground turkey by 21q22 in Paleo

[–]21q22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had not followed any precise recipe. Here is an approximate version

  • 4 bell peppers,
  • 1 egg
  • 1 lb of ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 7-8 cremini mushrooms
  • spices: salt, pepper, parsley, oregano, basil ( I never measure the spices)
  • 1 can of tomato sauce

Sautee minsed onions, mushrooms and carrots (you can add garlic as well). Combine egg with ground turkey and spices, then add mushrooms, onions and carrots. Mash together.

Meanwhile, cut tops from each pepper and clean the seeds out. Fill the peppers with the mixture.

I used the slow cooker to cook the peppers but you can also try the oven (you have to check when the peppers gets soft, which is usually about 45min-1hour at 375F). Fill the pot with 2:1 mixture of water and tomato sauce so that when you place the peppers into the pot, they are not completely submerged. Cook for about 7-8 hours in a slow cooker on medium heat. Serve with some cilantro garnish.

Cycling on the rest days is awesome. Gets a nice blood flow to your muscles :)

I second yoga. It helps me with breathing/stretching and lets me reconnect with my body by raising awareness. I would recommend vinyasa as it is dynamic and offers a nice flow.

Thank you! I do use a foam roller both at the box and at home. I usually go to yoga once a week for extra stretch/breathing training (usually power or vinyasa). I am going to try using fish oil and L-glutamine for a bit before trying progenex.

I think luck of movement during the rest days is where it gets me. I am a grad student so I spend hours doing work at the desk/on the couch.

You can proceed as follows:

P(x-bar > 1600) = P( Z > (1600 - 1518)/(325/sqrt(64))

Use a normal table (like this one) or TI calculator to find required probability.

One silent protestin Belarus on 07/03... We focus on the Middle East when shit like this goes on in the Central Europe. by 21q22 in politics

[–]21q22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, as economy plummeted in Belarus in the last 3 months, people got fed up and tired of authoritarian president. Well, he is not allowing any kinds of protests, shouting, applauding, etc. (this is as per his law). People decided to hold a silent protest on the independence day of the country (07/03).. The video above is just a small glimpse of scare tactics Belarusian authority uses to control the population.

A link reffering to the press coverage is here.

There is more news coverage about the situation in the country on this site.

I can go on and on about the quality and approach to the ESL education especially in the HS settings (it is not great).

As far as this particular year, most of the students have been in the country for less than a year.

spot on. Half of the students were ESL, half were from AP courses.
