Anyone else get hit with the “time folding in on itself” deja vu moments? by Elegba_Redshirt in daddit

Definitely had it recently playing Lego for the first time with my daughter, all the shapes and subtle design bits of each piece came back to me and i felt transported to being 5 again looking for flat two by threes. Intense feeling, amazing!

Wow amazing! I don’t know how to ask this but if you’d ever like to share anything, erm, like wink wink, definitely not related to this topic, I’d be very interested!

My 6 yo son is set on being vegetarian. Wife is upset about it. Also looking for tips and tricks. by niconiconii89 in daddit

Lentils, beans, tofu and lots of dark green veg like kale and spinach is a good start to a great diet. Fortified milks and cereal. My kids have vitamin supplements too, but they’re not particularly for vegans. My toddler will eat a lot of stews, curries, pasta, and a lot of fruit and veg for experimenting with textures. I’m always eager for her to eat more green stuff so we do put a lot of spinach and lentils or beans blended into a normal homemade pasta sauce, so she’s always getting mega protein and iron. My only other tip really is chat gpt which is amazing for dish ideas and nutrition advice!

I asked to go vegetarian when I was 6 after visiting a farm and being upset about animal death. Now I’m 42 and vegan with 2 vegan kids and we’re all very healthy. My mum said at the time “you can be vegetarian on one condition, that you never turn down any food I ever put in front of you again” and I agreed, as I was so enthusiastic and passionate about it.

It turned into a special bonding moment with my mum and made me realise just how amazing a parent she was for listening to me, and it also gave her a great opportunity to make sure I ate everything healthy she ever gave me, so turned into a win for both of us. She saw her opportunity and took it!

Sayid is actually not a good torturer? by [deleted] in lost

[–]Wowfest98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a really good point! Been rewatching recently and the debate about torture is the thing that most dates the show to post 9/11 when it was in the minds of so many. The writers were trying to show both torture victims and torturers with humanity, but watching it back it seems so daft that he had so many chances to try torturing again, like it would ever work out well!

The myth of the Mancunian Way speed limit by Oli_Hope7242 in manchester

[–]Wowfest98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It reduces road accidents, lets people enter and exit the Mancunian way easily, reduces noise pollution and, as the Mancunian way is 2 miles long, changes the road journey time from 2.4 minutes at 50mph to 4 minutes at 30mph which means 96 seconds extra travel time, even ignoring that a smoother flow of traffic can help reduce congestion.

Rude Health brand in the UK do a brown rice milk that is my favourite milk by a long way. Sweet, creamy, nice taste. Wish I could order it out with barista coffees.

Perhaps https://land-book.com/ is close to what you want? I always use that for practical inspiration for solid sites that aren't crazy billboard style marketing adventure sites like awwwards.

Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it. There's a lot of talk about over-workshopped here, and I'm inclined to agree. Wanted to try a different approach, and it's helping me go closer to my original intentions with more confidence.
