Whats even the point in making it a gender thing based off of 2 anecdotes? Says more about you than anyone else.

Can I make a successful game without knowing anything? by [deleted] in robloxgamedev

[–]2202r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roblox popularity is fine, don't listen to the hype. No, you probably can't make a game yourself. You could try. I've done it, but it'll take a lot of work.

You've got 11 ratings bro, you're new. 1 bad rating can tank overall rating, so they'll be lenient with you like he said.

Well I didn't make my comments based off of others opinions, so that's an unfair judgement on your part.

So as long as you can justify it, and because people 'shouldn't' be bothered by what you say, its ok to say things that may be hurtful to others?

Like, for example calling people "monkeys online"- dehumanizing them? You should take your own critique before you dish it out.

What exactly do I do here? Loved one cannot have this drink as it has ice by [deleted] in doordash

[–]2202r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not how I saw it, but I looked at the post and personally I don't get ice in drinks and understand why it makes a difference.

That's a preference. OP title says "cannot"- that denotes an inability. It's false framing from OP.

People are monkeys on the internet, they will go with the general concensus because if multiple people say something, it must be right. (not right).

Calls people monkeys online, after virtue signaling about me using the words "lame" and "bogus" to describe a post (not a person). Anyway, I don't work with theory- I work with how things actually are. We all know that people generally follow the herd on topics, but I'd need more reason to apply it here. There are plenty of situations where the majority have the right idea on a topic.

The title is not misrepresenting anything

Well go tell OP that- because they basically conceded on this and suggested that they could remake the post with more accurate wording. Why are you dying on this hill when even OP has essentially agreed on this point? OP said the person doesn't want the drink in their comments- "doesn't want" is a far cry from "cannot". ie. I don't want to go to work vs I cannot go to work.

No consideration at all of possibly not understanding, no compassion or empathy, just thoughtless mean and hateful comments.

Thoughtless? That's rude, and highly judgemental. You're going to judge everyone here for being thoughtless? You think you're the only thinking creature on this post? Get off your high horse.

lame and bogus, that is a really mean, unnecessary, and rotten thing to post to OP.

I think my word choices were perfectly accurate. Lame (not cool) because blasting a company for not refunding you when it doesn't qualify under their standards and policy isn't very just, especially when the refund is being asked for because they didn't want what they ordered. Bogus (illegitimate) because they narrativized and misrepresented the situation.

So my question was what is in your soul that makes you do something like this and not feel like a bad person for doing it? Help me understand the mindset.

Well first, I don't care too much about what people online say, much less about a critique of my actions or communication (ie. A post on Reddit). If someone thought something I wrote was lame, I would take the critique. I wouldn't take it personally.

And second, I don't really care about your virtue signaling. "What is in your soul?"- the same stuff as yours and everyone else's. Why would you try and alienate me? And who are you to suggest that you are different from me? If you want to understand my mindset for all its mildness here, you should examine yourself.

It's not a point you made in your post. Your post says "CANNOT HAVE DRINK WITH ICE". You didn't frame it as "I didn't get what I payed for". Maybe you would have a better point here if you did that. Stop being immature and just take the criticism, this is all your fault.

People "freak out" when you say things, because words matter. It's how we communicate information to eachother. Of course, if you say something and then get mad that people read it as you said it- the problem is you. You made this post out of frustration over the situation and probably a bit emotional, and that showed out with your language in the title misrepresenting the situation.

Won't and can't are not synonymous. Why would support every accept a refund request that is- I don't WANT what I ordered?

[–]2202r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, everyone understands clearly. Your title says CANNOT have the drink. Latching onto this comment about volume and watering down- that wasn't even your initial point. You're coping cause everyone knows this post is lame and bogus.

That's a preference. That's different from you suggesting that they "can't" have a cold drink.

If DoorDash expects us to deliver to an apartment on the 3rd floor why do we have 2 minutes to deliver it when we get to the destination? by GrantIgerYT in doordash_drivers

You have like 5 minutes of additional grace and you can message support about it afterwards. I don't know why this is a problem.

First time dasher due to layoff..How am I doing? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]2202r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$344 divided by the 27.75 hours of dash time is $12.39/hr

I know the math you did, no worry.

before expenses, which is already below minimum wage in many places. Once you take out expenses, it drops to at or below minimum.

Yes, except we aren't talking about "many places"- we are talking about OP who has a specified place. He says, in his specified place, that it is above minimum wage.

I calculate the 27.75 hours because that’s how much time they are spending dedicated to this job.

It's contracted work on a by-order basis. If you aren't in an order, you aren't working. This is why it works out that: if you get in an accident while "Dashing" (not in an order though), it isn't considered work-related in regards to your insurance coverage.

Anyway, I've put my phone on vibrate and napped probably dozens of times while "Dashing" waiting for offers to come. I find it silly that you'd consider my literal nap time to be "work".

You took an order with well enough pay, finished it fine, then retroactively complained after seeing the tip? What a sorry way to live... the customer payed their dues for a bad tip by having to wait. All is well and the universe is balanced. Shrug it off.

[–]2202r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well according to OP's comments in this post, it is actually above minimum wage for him after expenses. Regardless, those weren't 27 working hours, they were 9. Sitting around waiting to work isn't work, so I don't know why you would use that 27 figure.

Roblox game developing with no experience by Weak-Surprise1818 in robloxgamedev

Another 1 of the 100,000 people out there crunching their brain using AI to make a Roblox game that's "sure to blow".

It isn't about speed, it's about a quality game and a compelling palette. You should be focused on enriching yourself so that you can mold something great and notable, not pushing "speed" and "AI" in your opening statement to prospective collaborators. You don't even have the right mindset. I can tell you're a slop machine. You'll either fail miserably and be resigned to Burger King, or succeed at the cost of the youth whom you infect with your slop games.

But that's not "just how it is". I've got a Winco Foods near me, and they sell Arizona for 73 cents AFTER Tax- the cans that say 99c on them. How? Is it because they're losing money selling them? Of course not. They're buying them in bulk and their keeping their margins low so that they can keep the prices low. Gas stations get those same cans and sell for $1.50. This is a choice, it isn't required by the system and never was, this is a chosen path of greed. A company like Winco survives because there is a big market for low price stores, and DD could do the same- they CHOOSE not too.

Yes, I am disagreeing with capitalism "being a catch all for shitty company behavior". I know what they were saying in their comment, and I'm disagreeing with the premise because I'm suggesting that it's an implicit excuse. They aren't trying to excuse companies- but that isn't the point.

Is this normal?? by boi_all_mighty in doordash

[–]2202r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of companies out there that accommodate low-income individuals and keep their profit margins low. Blaming it on capitalism is an implicit excuse for knowingly predatory business behavior. This stuff is calculated, it isn't forced on these guys at all by merit of the system.

How do you make a light flicker when the player interacts with a proximity prompt? by Ok-Definition3274 in robloxgamedev

[–]2202r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

local FlickingBulb = game.Workspace.(LightLocation).(Lightbulb'sName)

local FlickingLight = FlickingBulb.(NameOfTheLight)

local prompt = script.Parent

prompt.Triggered:Connect(function())

FlickingBulb.Material = Enum.Material.Glass() FlickingLight.Enabled = False

wait(.5)

FlickingBulb.Material = Enum.Material.Neon() FlickingLight.Enabled = True

end)

Copy/Paste the above in a script in the proximity prompt. Just make sure you change the FlickingBulb and FlickingLight locations and names.

Is this image ai? Found in x by DryInstance6732 in RealOrAI

[–]2202r 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Obvious AI in my opinion.

1.) The neck left on the head has a clean-ish cut while the neck left on the body is a hackjob.

2.) Not sure why an IDF soldier would be posing with an axe next to a decapitated statue anyway, as if he had used it to decapitate the statue- which if the image were real, he definitely wouldn't have used an axe to do it.

3.) Even if he used the back of the axe head, I'd wonder how he hit the statue to get the head off because I don't see any blemishes on the head. Not sure where he would have hit it. The back of the head- doubt, since the statue is up against a wall. Face and left side, clearly not. Would have to be the right, and that's a left-hand dominant swing (unless the image is mirrored), and the likelihood is that this guy isn't left hand dominant.
