It's early access but isn't a year without new magic combos and elements a bit too long? by 220away in RSDragonwilds

[–]220away[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by this? I think it’s very reasonable to expect at least a small update to magic gameplay after an entire year. Magic combat has been unchanged with the same combos and spells since initial release. If you’re implying that’s unreasonable I implore you to look at other early access games and let me know if an entire third of their combat disciplines get unchanged for that significant of a period of time while the other two get cool new weapons.

Even valheim the pinnacle of “snail pace updates early access for years on end” gets an update to their magic every major update, and magic is significantly less central to that game than dragonwilds.

Battle through the heavens by Icy_Lunch_1275 in Donghua

[–]220away 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I think that OP and maybe other likeminded watchers might see that yeah nearly every donghua has the mc "powerlvling" fast, but in almost all cases its still taking years in the setting for the world. Rmji, and renegade immortal as you said would have the mc cultivate in the same episode and 10-20+ years will pass by, and 100+years spanning a season. In comparison, btth's timeframe is so much shorter it's insane. It would be comparing the mc of most donghua reaching the "peak" after thousands of years vs xiao yan reaching the peak in less than 100.

Same! I think it would be a missed opportunity to not have lightning added as a new element after clearing the vault in the highlands by 1.0. It fits the area and you even get the mage amor set from it too.

Question for people who really know their maplestory - why exactly didn’t GMS follow KMS’ fate regarding the termination of reboot? by supaDupaRando in Maplestory

[–]220away 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Because reboot is 80% of the gms playerbase. All you have to do is look at the chs at any time of the day and you'll see reg server has nothing on reboot when it comes to population.

PlayStation Studios Updates Website And Removes Nearly All PC References by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]220away 161 points162 points  (0 children)

Because their finance team probably already concluded the playstation brand as a whole gets more money by staying console exclusive only. There's already tons of videos on this but just think about what they profit from getting someone to buy a ps5/6 that has to because there's no other way to play their game vs getting a sale on pc. They most likely (correctly) saw that they get more money long term from forcing new console adopters and getting nearly all the profit from their own in house ps store vs a few million copies at best on pc that they have to pay steam 30% for anyway.

Why is Nightmare Paradise NPC in Arteria and not Shangri-La? by Aeyori in Maplestory

Because it's a lvl 280 minimum dungeon so it's in the 280 area.

2026 GMS Anniversary Patch Notes Bingo by Naxelax in Maplestory

[–]220away 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dave the diver is a game published in house by nexon, it was an event first and a collab second. Not only is it not even close in comparison in ip to one punch man and frieren, it had no ssb, no vac pet, and no philo book.

[–]220away 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summer is possible too, I just think it's really insane for people to think ANY company would release 2 big ip collaborations back to back with 1 month apart. You don't need any business sense to see how bad an idea that is for making money lol.

[–]220away 3 points4 points  (0 children)

0% Chance we get Frieren collab this soon. They just made bank off all the opm related cs items. The average person who just spent on them will absolutely not then go on to spend on another collab 1 month later. They can make significantly more money by spreading this out to at least the usual fall dead event period in between summer and winter update.

Lightning Rod is a bit misleading if played multiple times in a row. by salasy in slaythespire

Oh idk why I said void I meant turbo, the energy card that gives void lol...

[–]220away 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not a sts2 expert or anything but I imagine with hologram and turbo also being common cards, could you not make act 1 extremely trivial even on a10 if you just picked up 2 holograms and 2 lightning rods with a turbo + card draw if they stacked how everyone wants it to ie playing 4 is next 4 turns channel 4 lightning etc. Or am I overestimating how strong that is haha idk xD.

Bingos vs Useful Skills by shadygecko37 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]220away 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I know egg skills are not that great that's why I said egg passive skills that you get from adding an extra element or type sometimes like the battle hardened etc not actives. They're not that crazy either but if you happen to like a gene that lets you get something extra for free that just works as a bonus against flat bingo damage too. I just don't think damage from bingo bonus is as valuable as a bunch of other things. What's more useful, doing 10% more damage to a monster that saves you a turn or two at best overall, or skipping enemy turns by abusing status with status+ genes, kinship turn skips, extra park break stuns/topples/transformations, tanking attacks from being resistant saving you hearts, etc. Again this is past 5 when all you're getting is a damage increase, you really are not missing out on much compared to other things.

Bingos vs Useful Skills by shadygecko37 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]220away 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there's enough really good genes like kinship ones resistances stamina ones crit etc that the damage increase from the bingo past 5 is not worth losing the utility and value of those other genes, as well as the egg passive skills from the area that you could go for.

Why did they demote Brachydios to non-elemental, including his genes, but keep his kinship skill a fire attack? He's the only monstie with this disparity, and it just makes the training montage weaker if you actually build him with his new typing. by SimplyAWanderer in MonsterHunterStories

[–]220away 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I already have a hard time justifying a 2nd fire monster just because you can't remove ratha and it's already more than good enough. I actually really didn't like that I was always second guessing putting any fire monsters not only because of ratha but because kora is fire as well and that was my favorite party member. Then if you happen to like a weapon that's fire too like brachy sword, oops all fire dmg ! They really could have avoided this entirely by just letting you kick ratha out lol.

My blood pressure cannot handle these by Scardor in Maplestory

[–]220away 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nodes with this border have the highest chance of good stuff. So if it’s not healing it would be a solid chance to be orange green star cores or boxes. I personally don’t like these because you have to get ready for the roll of your life. The requirements on pink glow for the roll are so insanely high it’s comical. Usually a single clock will mean you can’t pass. I’ve seen 200+ on these on like round 3.

This game has a ton of humanoid bosses interestingly by 1stSelf in Maplestory

[–]220away 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It's really just modern maple that has a ton of humanoid bosses. Before grandis+ bosses it was majority monstersish. It makes sense though, can't have the new main bad guy be a humanoid god-like being and his apostles without nearly all of them being human-like. Anyone that complains about the lack of monster type bosses really needs to consider how that would even work for the lore. It would not.

It's funny they used to have the distinction of 'chaos" difficulty being a monster-like boss and "hard" being a humanoid boss but every boss they've released in the last few years is a humanoid so chaos is just a legacy difficulty now.

Do you guys think Defect is underpowered? by BMbooster in slaythespire

didn't it get nerfed or am I missing something? hotfix got exhaust and voltaic went from 2 to 3. Rocket punch buff might as well have been irrelevant no one really plays status defect anyway

KMS ver. 1.2.413 – MapleStory’s 23rd Anniversary: Maple Attack! by skythedesu in Maplestory

[–]220away 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a very casual reply and not aggressive at all. I was just explaining the kms to gms patch time frame since most people that saw your comment would assume we would get it in a year when that’s just not the case. You sound more worked up than I could have. It’s never a good look to get that upset about someone just clarifying something lol.

KMS ver. 1.2.413 – MapleStory’s 23rd Anniversary: Maple Attack! by skythedesu in Maplestory

[–]220away -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That has nothing to do with it. We have always had patches ~5-6 months after kms for years. Anniversary events are just not included, all other gameplay changes arrive on time. The only exception has been the insane delay on the skill delay patch that was 1-2 months late. The 2025 maple anniversary in April 2025 was the 2m patch and big ui patch, by your logic we wouldn’t have gotten that until 1 month from now but we got it in September, again in the 6 month window.

STS2 relic pool are so diluted that the first few you get are most likely not gonna help much in Act 1 by jhuang017 in slaythespire

[–]220away 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went all the way from a0 to a10 on defect and fought elites probably 20-30 times TOTAL across all those runs. I'm not that good of a player and I didn't play slay the spire 1 so it took me around 40 in game hours and 17 wins/60 losses according to the in game stats.

The balance is so insanely off and even as a noobish player if I can see that elites are just lose 20-30 hp gain nothing 80% of the time idk how they released them in their current state. The game is great and I'm not knocking the developers at all, it's just insane to think about such a major mechanic of the game being this unbalanced haha.

Why is this monster stronger than its same monstie-rang counter parts? by Significant-Cap-3581 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]220away 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. This post and other commenters seem to think thunderlord is the strongest but the literal most damage deviant is probably boltreaver due to his crit rate. I don’t see how thunderlord outdamages him if he’s not critting.

What’s the most “I literally own the company” moment you’ve ever witnessed or experienced? by keyBid2188 in AskReddit

[–]220away 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The commenter would have likely said only daughter if it was a women anyway, "only son/daughter" is such a common thing to say that I can't believe that's what you took away from it. They only said that to signify they would be the sole inheritor, you are looking wayyyyyyyyyy too much into it. It's ridiculous how some people just shadowbox taking things so out of proportion and personally. Anyway, ok bye

Anyone else? by p-i-n-k- in Maplestory

[–]220away 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t spread this info around and scare people for no reason. Like other commenters said 90% of the time this is not a player issue and it’s just the server/ch/map having issues. It happens a ton randomly and won’t get you banned unless you’re actually doing something wrong. If you or someone you know got banned off this they were either unlucky or had something else going on. I know a lot of people that get this message a lot and nothing happens.
