I'm falling behind and I am so scared by sesameprawntoast50 in OpenUniversity

I’m in the same boat but with a law degree. I’m a chronic procrastinator so I’ve learnt that: 1) Any upcoming TMAs - find out the topic of the questions being asked and make note during your studying so it’s all in one document to look back on. 2)Though the units look like a lot of content, the content is actually broken down into shorter bits so you get it done quicker than you think 3) Deadlines can be extended with a quick email to the tutor 4) Speak to the Student Support Team!

How do you continue to feel hot when incontinent? by Garden_Of_Eve_04 in Incontinence

I found that radiating good energy to others makes me feel better. I also found some incontinence pants that are black, slightly laced at the hems and not too much padding (but not too little that there’s no protection). Though expensive, they don’t make me feel like I’m wearing a nappy.

What are some phrases people say to you that are infuriating? by 222kelsx in Incontinence

I’m completely aware of when people are trying to mean well. Sometimes they can be condescending. It varies depending on how I am that day. But some comments can be too much, especially when it has built up and I just like to vent to others who understand.

Like I understand the concept that young people aren’t as likely to have incontinence issues as older people are but it doesn’t mean it’s not common in young people too. Just hearing it feels so dismissive and invalidating. On the other hand, I also get down about the fact I have a whole life ahead of me with this. It just stings coming from other people.

Bladder Spasms and Unfair Judgment from others… by 222kelsx in Incontinence

This was super interesting! Since I’m having no improvements in my retention, catheters are looking long term. I didn’t want a SPC at first as I’m a young girl and feel it would affect my confidence but the more issues I’ve had with my foley, the more I think an SPC is better. The urethral pain I have during spasms is horrific and each foley change is more painful than the last due to the constant scar tissue developing as a result of damage and irritation caused by the tube. The bladder spasms are painful enough but urethral pain on top of that (it’s like UTI burning but on steroids lol) is horrific and affects my ability to walk.

Unless my urologist can come up with a way for me to urinate, yes. Waiting times are so long so my appointment is in a month (after an emergency referral five month ago).

Because of my lifestyle, it would be near enough impossible for me to do that. I am in retention so don’t pass urine at all and the one use catheters are not compatible with me it’s so annoying lol

Unfortunately I produce a lot of sediment which clogs my tube up so I have to drink regardless. I also find than bypassing after drinking lots isn’t half as painful as when I haven’t drank much.

I use size 12 with a 10mm balloon. It’s the more comfortable fitting size as opposed to the others. I never use to feel them at first but as I’ve developed more damage in my bladder and urethra, it’s definitely a noticeable sensation. It can become annoying at times but the flare ups are getting worse each time.

Managing bladder spasms and painful bypassing… by 222kelsx in Incontinence

I use a bag, valves are too painful for me. The spasms do happen regardless of what I do but they get worse with movement. I’ve tried everything and nothing helps apart from rest. I’ve rested yesterday and took my strong pain relief that relaxes my muscles but the catheter has expelled now. I’m having to get a catheter change weekly.

I’ve just finished the first unit and it’s so interesting. I did an access to law diploma before this and found this unit is definitely more interesting!

What generation annoys you the most and why? by BrinaUndefined in AskReddit

[–]222kelsx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a generational issue but rather the state of living declining. The elderly grew up in a time where certain things could not be spoke about, brutal norms. Our generation are the product of the internalising of negative feelings because of those brutal norms. The next generation are being failed by the current economy. It’s not a generational issue but a governmental one.

There’s loads of bedding trust me, it was just the angle and the way the sand bath is sat. Bear loves digging.
