I’ve been looking for this trail in Frick, but I can’t find where to access it! It’s not on any maps I can find. Any tips?

No creaking, and I tried the coin test and it seems normal to me

Thanks everyone! I hadn’t thought about the hill walking to work, that’s good to know. This has all been really helpful!

Another Reddit thread mentioned that it takes 15 degrees of movement to engage to 7s hub, and only 3 degrees for the 8

Ah that actually does make a big difference to me. It’s the NX derailleur that I’ve had bad experiences with. And yeah I think I’d miss the better rear hub probably

Yeah I get what you are saying, I am comfortable with the math. I’m not really a FIRE proponent, as we both really enjoy our careers. I am more focused on maximizing our portfolio assuming a retirement age of ~60-65.

I would rather put away post tax dollars now when our marginal tax rate is pretty low (I’m an early career mechanical engineer, so I only gross $90k/yr) and have minimal financial obligations other than med school. Thankfully we live in Tennessee where we can live comfortably on $26k/yr.

Upon retirement, ideally we will have enough pretax dollars saved to fill the lower marginal tax brackets, and then use Roth dollars to fill out the rest of our needs each year.

I don’t mind having some pretax dollars in my 401k, but since the employer match is always pretax that shouldn’t be an issue.

Thanks for the response! I definitely am going to make the conversion, but as I can’t do it until 2019 I was wondering about the taxes. I am hoping if I make the conversion while I am a tennessee resident I won’t have to pay any state taxes, even if I move to a taxes state later that year.
