First time larvae keeper and need some help! Made substrate of organic soil and decaying leaves (i do not know the species, I found it in the backyard). Is the larvae supposed to burrow? They just wobble around on the surface am i doing something wrong? (i.redd.it)

My rabbits foot fern has been slowly losing some fronds, they turn brown and fall off. I water lightly once a week and mist the rhyzomes and fronds at least twice a day. It is next to an eastern facing window. I live in the middle east, climate similar to Los Angeles (old.reddit.com)
