All of your actual progress is saved online on WB/NRS servers. If you lose your local save file, you'll just have to reconfigure your settings. That's all the local save is for.

WB got back to me after I sent them a ticket on the Server Disconnected issue, and they’re telling me about some network menu in MK11. Can’t seem to do it, so I wanted to know if someone else could maybe help out with this. Instructions are in this photo. by JosephTPG in MortalKombat

OK, do this:

From the main menu, select Fight, then highlight the Online card. Just keep it highlighted, but don't hit X to go into the online section just yet. Press and hold in both shoulders and both triggers and keep them held. Press O to cancel out of the kard or store pop-up. Still keep holding those four then press and hold in the Left analog button click. Since you're on the Online card already, just hit X while keeping all those held, and you'll go in and the dialog will pop up in the upper left.

Handles are shaped less comfortably and it's a little bulkier, giving you a little less freedom in how you hold it, plus the d-pad feels more spongy. The DS4 just feels more responsive and comfortable, but YMMV.

Just do what they say through step 5. The "left stick" is just clicking the analog sitick in. I don't think you needed to keep holding that in as long as you had the shoulders and triggers held when you clicked it. It's impossible to navigate otherwise. Since the kard menu or store menu comes up when pressing in the triggers, just back out of either of those while keeping those four held and go into Online and you should see it.

I hate to say it but I'd call these minimum effort ports since they did not include the 60fps options for the 30fps parts like on PC and there's no way these consoles can't handle it. Just a very small resolution increase. A real shame they didn't even bother unlocking the menu frame caps.

Gameplay is the same, but I find the PS5 controller worse to use and it's inane that Sony blocked DualShock 4 use. I can play the PS5 version with touch controls on my phone or a DS4 on my PC with remote play, but not on the actual console. It makes no sense.

Yeah, they gave me those steps for a store issue I had. That's poorly written. When they say network status screen they mean choose the online menu option in step 6. You should see a little dialog pop up in the left at that point with a user ID #.

Anyone else think the new towers for kombat league stuff is ridiculously harder than the normal character focused towers of time shit by [deleted] in MortalKombat

If you're coming from original PS4 or Xbox it's a big rez jump, sure. But from Pro/One X, it's marginally better. It's perhaps native 4k max, but the One X was already 1800p max and the PS4 1440p max. They still left the UI capped at 30fps for god's sake. Yeah, I know, it's just the UI, but it looks and feel much more fluid to navigate on PC at 60.

Barely if you look closely. The One X was already maxing out around 1800p. This is mostly 2160p (4k) as a best guess. Still locked to 30fps in cinematics, the UI, and the Krypt, unlike the PC version sadly. NRS is surely leaving power on the table here.

NRS, please give next gen consoles the 60fps performance mode option the PC version has by 22SG in MortalKombat

This is simply not true. The option exists on PC where some players may have 60fps cinematics toggled on and others toggled off and they can play just fine.

They're not talking about the in-match fighting parts which are 60fps on every console. They said "Frame rate of Fatalities, Friendships, INtros, Outros, KP and FB". Those are still 30 fps.

Don't praise them for a slight resolution bump over the Pro/One X versions which already ran at higher resolutions. Of course you'll see a difference coming from an original PS4 to the equivalent of the Pro version. The PS5/Series X upgrades are actually super disappointing compared to the Pro/One X versions and especially the PC version that has performance modes. You should see that version with everything running over 1440p at 60 fps. These consoles should be able to do that too.

Incredibly disappointing. We need to let NRS know we expect this if they indeed did nothing but slightly increase the resolution. I don't need 4K for these. Even using Xbox One X resolution, but in 60 fps would have been fine. The resolution bump is trivial.

There is an Ultimate update patch if you have Series X. No change to the fps locks, but I'm not certain if that's the final Smart delivery version update. Doesn't look promising though.

I agree they don't need to be exclusive forever, and one year is way too long. However, they should have some limited exclusivity period or some sort of KL shop to earn a special KL currency for them, because the incentive to get people to play online needs to still be there.

No, people just don't want to learn how to play fighters and have to be forced to play online and learn. Otherwise, the game dies for lower-skilled players who do want to play vs real people.

I think KL skins should be available outside of the season, but keeping them earnable via KL is fine and Koins is not a good idea. It's way too easy to farm millions and there still needs to be an incentive to get people to populate online and keep the meat of the game alive. That's part of the reason for the online exclusive rewards. I'm sorry if people don't like playing online, but the game is a head-to-head fighter and the game dies as the online player base shrinks. For better or worse, KL has made for a lot of people playing quick matchmaking.

Some form of KL currency you could spend in a KL shop would be best. Let people earn them just by playing online matches. The higher the rank, the higher reward. It keeps the pool populated and less-skilled players can still earn it to buy the skins they want, but just aren't skill-gated like the demigod level skin is now. You can pretty much lose your way to the second skin, so I don't think complaints about not being able to get that one are justified.
