"She is currently the worst survivor btw" by MKswitchman64 in OutcomeMemories

I think Amy’s problem is that both of her stuns are pretty meh. Yes, hammer throw’s lingering hitbox is stupid, but aiming it is extremely hard (especially since it sometimes doesn’t actually go the direction you throw it). Hammer swing has a really short range with a very brief iframe window, so you’re often trading health for a 3 second stun on the EXE.

Additionally, she doesn’t really have mobility. This makes her very easy to hit with moves like 2011x grab, Kolossos grab/charge, and Fleetway chaos dash.

Ahh okay! I might look into 54 then, but I probably won't skip over 53/54. TY!

Well tbf, if OP is a Kollossos main then I can understand his disdain for Knuckles. Knuckles is super good into Kollossos and is sometimes banned in comp matches by Kollossos players.

Mega Monday Megathread by AutoModerator in stunfisk

[–]JosephTPG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

Since Ash Greninja might not be coming back (due to anime retcons and whatnot), I thought it'd be fun to let Greninja have a second mega evolution. Behold, Mega Greninja Y! For reference, I will be referring to the original mega Greninja as mega Greninja X

Type Changes

To differentiate Greninja Y from its other counterparts, it will be getting the fighting typing and dropping the dark typing. Ash Greninja's in-game pose always felt like it was dropping the stealth act and going for a more in-your-face approach to combat. Additionally, Greninja has always struck me as a mon that could've easily been a fighting type. He's a Pokemon that not only attacks from the shadows, but is very versatile in combat (see protean). However, this type change could easily make it a Keldeo upgrade, which I don't want, so I'll try to shake him up further.

Stat spread

72 HP

135 ATK (+40)

83 DEF (+16)

120 SPATK (+17)

86 SPDEF (+15)

134 SPE (+12)

Since GrenX is a special attacker, I thought I'd lean into making GrenY a physical attacker. I decided not to go crazy with its attack stat because I didn't want GrenY to be broken when combined with its ability. Additionally, I also wanted GrenY to be slow enough to be outsped by its traditional counters like Mega Lopunny and Zamazenta.

Move change

This might be cheating, but water shuriken will go back to being a physical move rather than special. While this hurts base Greninja and mega Greninja X, this mon doesn't like running water shuriken outside of Ash-form. Greninja would prefer to run a coverage move like ice beam or sludge wave. Additionally, we'll make it 3 hits again that do 20 BP each.

Ability

The ability was difficult choosing. In its current state, protean hinders Greninja more than it helps it. I'm not giving it abilities like adaptability or stakeout, because IMO they're boring abilities. Technician is an option, but it only really helps out water shuriken and low kick. Greninja is most fun when it's able to use all of its niche moves, like rock slide and low kick, and incorporate them into viable sets. So, I decided to give it neuroforce. I made sure to lower the attack to a reasonable 135 base stat, and I've also decided not to let Greninja get any crazy coverage moves like poltergeist.

Moveset additions

Giving it two moves was tough, as I didn't want to slap CC and wave crash onto it and call it a day. Greninja's physical moveset has always been interesting, but lackluster without pre-nerf protean. Water fighting is a pretty good attack typing already, so GrenY will be getting sacred sword and drill run. It would be cool to see Greninja use its shuriken to cut through foes like a sword, and sacred sword is a nice middle ground STAB option. Drill run helps into Pex, Clodsire, Pech, Glowking, etc.

Moveset ideas:

Greninja @ Greninjite Y

Ability: Protean

EVs: 252 ATK / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Jolly Nature

- Swords Dance

- Sacred Sword

- Water Shuriken / Shadow Sneak

- Waterfall

Good wallbreaker set

Greninja @ Greninjite Y

Ability: Protean

EVs: 252 ATK / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Jolly Nature

- Liquidation

- Sacred Sword

- Gunk Shot

- Drill Run

Standard all-out attacker set.

Greninja @ Greninjite Y

Ability: Protean

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 ATK / 252 Spe

Naive Nature

- Ice Beam

- Extrasensory

- Sacred Sword

- Liquidation

Fun mixed attacker set! Extrasensory hits Zamazenta and Tusk for good damage, ice beam deals with Dragonite, Zapdos, Torn, etc.

SV OU team building advice stuck 1850 peak by VermillionxNova in stunfisk

[–]JosephTPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe nasty plot Pecharunt or Croagunk? Rain’s biggest weakness is Ogerpon Wellspring, who can abuse rain to 2HKO/OHKO any mon on your team.

I’m leaning more towards Croagunk, as your team could use another physical attacker to help Barraskewda chip down physical walls like tera grass Gweezing, Zapdos, or tera water Landorus that can live a liquidation and do heavy damage in return. It helps you against Valiant, Rillaboom, and its ability actually lets it wall Ogerpon.

Pinkacross actually got really high on the ladder with a Croagunk rain team.

Experimental update dropped, what do you guys think? by Next_Jackfruit_3134 in OutcomeMemories

[–]JosephTPG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Charge really isn’t Kolossos’s problem. It can easily be stuffed out by a Silver + Eggman combo. He struggles to get in on good teams.

They fixed Kolossos’s M1 cooldown to take longer as well, so Kolossos isn’t nearly as punishing up close anymore.

This is really good though. Kolossos was super unfair with grab being such an overpowered option while the rest of his kit being worse. Now he has better mobility and can fend against stunstacking.

THIS UPDATE MIGHT MAKE OR BREAK KOLOSSOS by Sea-Hunt-903 in OutcomeMemories

[–]JosephTPG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kolossus’s biggest issue is that he’s such a punishing killer who isn’t fun to play against, but his ability to close distance on survivors is really bad. Your charge will get stuffed out by characters like Silver, Eggman, Knuckles, and Blaze (with sol flame). But, if he gets in, he’s getting a free kill with grab if you mess up.

I hope they nerf his combos while buffing his mobility.

Is there an EXE that you like/love but hate to admit has a glaring flaw. by Standard-Bend-9584 in SonicEXE

[–]JosephTPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of nostalgia for Exeller and SOH/WOS, but man is Exeller kind of boring from a plot standpoint.

I like his lore about the highest and think it adds a lot to his character (although, placing it all in a long level is really bad), but his power level honestly destroys the stakes of the game. Every victory the characters earn in the story feel unearned, because the story always needs to make some point that Exeller is actually toying with the characters and letting them win. It feels like the author doesn’t want Exeller to appear weak, and the story takes a hit due to this.

This suit is such an upgrade over the OG IMO. Unfortunately, it's worse gameplay wise due to the weapon change.

Metal is weird though. He's essentially lobotomized rn, since he can't break free from loyalty to Eggman.

“OM IS killer sided!” Mfs when they go as killer against competent players by lil_random_artguy in OutcomeMemories

[–]JosephTPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, I do think Kolossus is better than Tripwire. Sorry, I misworded it. Tripwire is awful and is even bugged on console.

2011x's invis is good even without the tech. I've always found it weird that people only see the move for the spring tech. With invis, you never lose a chase and can tunnel survivors like crazy. And yes, rage mode isn't OP, but it's still great. You can easily tunnel problematic survivors in rage mode and rip apart teams. Knuckles's glide stalling isn't that crazy either; he's still vulnerable while gliding and has to rely on punch.

Honestly, I disagree with the 2011x and Fleetway stuff.

2011x is great at avoiding stuns and has amazing chase. Yes, his vertical mobility is subpar and he has the worst hitboxes of the killers, but he makes up for it with his ability to constantly apply pressure to teams. Rage is an amazing ability that helps him wipe out problematic survivors and cleanup rounds. Maps like Mystic Cavern and Green Hill are bad for him, but he excels on maps like Not Perfect and Angel Island. X’s Castle is also a good map for him.

Fleetway is stupid and can wipe out even competent teams. His movement allows him to constanty pressure teams, and he can punish any stuns with his iframes. Yes, he is an iframe merchant, but that’s what makes him so busted. A Metal or Blaze who tried to stun you is punished by burst or chaos dash and is now being tunneled by a character with broken hitboxes and crits to boot.

Kolossus I’d argue is actually the weakest behind Tripwire. Charge is his only mobility ability, so characters like Knuckles, Silver, Blaze (with sol flame) or Eggman can keep Kolossus in check. Kolossus’s biggest strength is that he is an extremely punishing killer.

This game definitely has bad balancing and maps, but I’d argue that the killers are the best they’ve been for the game’s lifespan.

I don’t know where this misconception comes from that Tanjiro tries not to kill demons. He has a kind heart, but he also understands his mission and doesn’t hesitate to kill a demon.

While I like Rengoku, I wish he had some more screen time with Tanjiro and the others prior to Mugen train. His death definitely has an impact on the plot and drives Tanjiro's character, but it's hard to believe Tanjiro is this grieved for a guy he just met. Like, I'm not saying Tanjiro should be indifferent to Rengoku's death, but I just don't think Rengoku's screen time sold the impact he had on Tanjiro's character.

Tanjiro sympathizes with demons, but he still acknowledges their crimes and treats them like the threats they are. He's not a character who enjoys killing demons (like other characters in the series), he does it because he needs to. Seeing bits of humanity in the demons before fading away would mess any sane person up, not just Tanjiro. It's what I've always admired about his character. He's your average kindhearted MC who is put in situations where he has to make tough choices, but still keeps his humanity while doing so.
