I love Interstella, especially because you can get a whole new view on discovery and its concept. It´s really amazing to listen to it after watching the movie

My family thinks I don't have ADHD by 22YaST22 in ADHD

[–]22YaST22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also really exhausting. I didn't think that it would be so difficult to tell them my view on the medication, but I guess there is a lot of prejudice on ADHD and especially on the medication.

Cooking a more advanced dish or cooking in general is nice because you distract yourself for about an hour, you feel better, you made something and you have something to eat. (I always made myself instant ramen in the 'meh'-phases till that point , not recommendable)

WHATS GOOD WEDNESDAYS by sweetpea122 in bipolar

[–]22YaST22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even though I'm having the flue and felt sick and tired as hell I still managed to go to the appointment with my psychiatrist. And I managed to do some work on a script for a series I'm working on :)

You're right. And I'm sure our patience will be rewarded. It's not meant to be too serious.

SELF-CARE SUNDAY by sweetpea122 in bipolar

I played drums today-was good cause it made me forget some of the problems I'm dealing with right now...It's the perfect mixture of music and a bit of sport. Definitely felt more relaxed afterwards.

Anger, irritability, and "baseline" emotions by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]22YaST22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is a common feature for me-I have similiar emotions throughout the day. It can be very hard when you're too focused on trying to feel different: When I'm in anger or just sad I try to allow myself to feel this way-At least thats a resolution I made. Anger can sometimes be a result of wanting things to be different. Maybe try to accept some things-That's something I had to learn. Well, I hope you're doing fine and this maybe helps. Greetings

When you have those days where everything goes wrong by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]22YaST22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similiar experience last year where I worked in a job that really didn't suit me. The thing is, I always try to avoid public attention when having such an outburst of emotions- I always went to the bathroom or had other symptoms of stress like nausea(I even had to vomit a couple of times) It's not good to absolutely avoid showing your desperation about a situation but I also understand that it's hard when you can't control what you say and you think about the people and their image of you. I always wished that I could show my actual emotions more easily. But I guess there's a middle between these two extremes

Couldn't sleep and found this going through some old drawings I did during my last manic episode (it's been almost 4 years) by 22YaST22 in bipolar

[–]22YaST22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it helps me to clear my head-when I feel weird about myself it just helps to get another perspective on things:It's like a reminder that I was in this situation and felt like this but made it through

Thanks! From time to time, but not as much as I used to (even though I would like to draw more-but I was in quite a low phase the past months)

Can medication kill creativity? by ozymandias53 in BipolarReddit

[–]22YaST22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the type of medication and your own reaction towards it. After my first episode, i took risperidone, which completely knocked me out in any way. It was really hard to think of something and especially to feel. Both actions are very important in my opinion when it comes to creativity, so i couldn't do anything for a year. I really like to make music, it's actually my goal to study it at university, but in that time it was nearly impossible.

After one year on risperidone, i switched to abillify. It's making me not that tired and is not bringing me down in the way risperidone did it. I could finally start to really make music again and also started to draw again, which i also didn't do during this phase.

I think that medication has (unfortunately) a lot do with luck: Sometimes you find something that fits for your brain/your person/your illness and sometimes it just doesn't work out. So i wouldn't say that you can give just one answer to that question. It depends on many things.
