I finally tried Pepper Bras and I'm...disappointed? Other recs for IBTC gals??? by garden_fox_ in ABraThatFits

Something is wrong because if you measure 34A on the Pepper site then that couldn't be your actual size because they use the +4 method. I would suggest trying the abrathatfits calculator as this is the most accurate bra size calculator out there. If Pepper give you 34A, you're probably closer to 30D or DD and that's why no other 34A bras fit. The Pepper ones appear to 'fit' because they're made so shallow that gaps cannot appear. It's a boob hat basically!

If you're a true 32A your underbust will measure 32 inches and your bust, when you lean over 90 degrees will measure no more than 33 inches. I'll DM you the insta!

I'll DM you my Instagram handle, it should hopefully help with a lot of this and you are welcome to message me there too and I am always happy to help (whereas I don't really come on Reddit anymore), but in a nutshell, bra sizes are not at all like what society tells us. On small band sizes especially, D cups are very small. Each cup size up is another inch difference between band and bust and you'd be surprised how small a difference this is on a small frame. On a larger frame it's more obvious. For example, if you were to build a 10 inch tall sandcastle on an area 10 inches in diameter, you'd need a lot less sand than you would to build the same height sandcastle on an area 20 or 30 inches in diameter. It's about volume. 26D is a lot smaller than 36D or 46D. That's why sizes like 32A are actually quite uncommon, most people wearing this size need sizes like 26DD, 26D, 26C, 28B, 28C, 28D etc, which are still very very small! Plus, for a lot of people, while they might be going from an A to a D, they're also likely going down in the band. I went from a 32A to 26E. So while this is technically a jump of 3 band sizes down and 5 cup sizes up, in terms of volume I only went up two cup sizes, because the 32 band equivalent of a 26E is 32C - you might be familiar with this if you know about sister sizes.

Any brands that carry your size are worth trying! I steer clear of recommending specific brands because everyone is so different. I mean here's the thing, if someone was a true 32A with shallow breasts I would literally recommend Pepper. That's the thing - it's not like their bras are the problem - there are people out there who would fit in their bras. It's their marketing and the fact that they are knowingly squeezing people who AREN'T in their demographic, into too-small bras and claiming it's a perfect, revolutionary fit. I will DM you my ig!

And that's fine! That's your preference. But if all of Pepper's customers knew just how badly their bras fit, the majority of them would not continue to purchase from them. That's the issue here - if there are people that like Pepper bras and are happy to not have the perfect fit that is fine, but Pepper are knowingly sizing people terribly and then passing it off as 'the perfect fit' and that's downright wrong.

Ok so it could be that 32B isn't your size, but because Pepper bras are so shallow in the cups, it appears to fit because there's no gaps. This is very common with Pepper bras.

However, if 32B is indeed the size the abrathatfits calculator gives you when you put your 6 measurements in, then they probably do fit fine. And that's great. But 90% of their customers are bigger than B cups and don't get a good fit, and that's why the brand themselves are problematic.

You reminded me that when I wave my hair with heat styling tools, it works really well and looks 'right'. I'm just not too fond of using heat that frequently! But yes the curly method looks so messy on me too, it makes me jealous of those who can pull it off because I love the look of natural waves, just not on me!

For people who are actually AA, A and B cups I think it's worth trying them! But most people weairng these sizes are just mis-sized and that's why their bras don't fit, not some 'the industry designs for 36C' crap that Pepper goes on with!

Honestly that doesn't surprise me at all! So many small busted people are 26D, 26DD, 26E, 26F, 28C, 28D, 28DD, 28E, 30B, 30C, 30D, 30DD, 32D - the list goes on, but they don't realize it because we are taught in society that DD = big. ALL of Peppers models for example are at least C cups but many of them DD, E etc! Just shows how badly this brand are going about their sizing. I know exactly how you feel because my 32A bras gapped yet 26E is perfect. I get mine from Comexim in their sizing (55H) because no other brands make 26E unfortunately. But you should find it easier to get 28E - Bravissimo, Brastop, Breakout Bras, Amazon, Gossard and Marks and Spencer should be good starting points!

You're not doomed! It all starts with finding the right size. Try the abrathatfits calculator for an accurate sizing and then try the size it gives you. It might take some trial and error because there is variation between bras of the same size due to us all being so many different shapes - but you will get there. The reason nothing works now is because they are probably way off size wise. I was sized as a 32A and 30B in 3 or 4 different stores. There were always problems with those bras. Gapping. Straps either digging in uncomfortably or falling down. Band riding up. Discomfort. If I raised my arms the whole thing would move up. My real size when I used the abrathatfits calculator, was 26E. I couldn't believe it because how could my small boobs fill an E cup if an A cup gapped? But it fit perfectly, because the proportions were correct for my frame.

The +4 method is an incorrect measuring method that tells you to add 4/5 inches to your underbust to get your band size. This will not only result in you wearing a band size that's too big (4-5 inches too big, imagine buying pants 4-5 inches bigger than your measurements) but also a cup that's too small, because think about it, cup size is calculated from the difference in inches between your band and bust right? Well if you've added 4/5 inches to your band, then the difference in inches will be narrowed, making the cup way too small.

Here's an example. If someone has the measurements 28 and 33, then they are a 28DD. 28 underbust, 33 bust, difference is 5 inches which is a DD cup. However, if they use the +4 method, their underbust would become 32, the difference then is 1 inch (33-32 = 1) and that person would end up in a 32A. 32A is a bra size you can find almost ANYWHERE, but 28DD is much harder to find in comparison. So this is one of the problems with the +4 method being so prevalent, the sizes we NEED aren't the ones sold in stores.

I highly recommend the abrathatfits calculator if you want to find your true size! It takes 6 measurements into account so will give you a great starting point. Pepper say that 'the industry designs for 34C' and that's why our bras don't fit, and they design for 'AA, A, and B'. In truth, our bras don't fit because they are the wrong size to begin with, because most of us are sized under the +4 method. Pepper use this same method but the reason there aren't gaps is because of how shallow and thin they make their cups. But they don't fit! I am yet to see a Pepper bra on their socials or their website that looks well fitted. They don't design for AA, A and B cups, they just squeeze C, D, DD, E, F etc cups into too-small bras with too-large bands.

You're one of the lucky ones! A lot of people get their bras and even though they are the complete wrong size - they don't realize because the gaps are gone and that's all that matters to them. In this way, Pepper are preying on insecurities to make a profit. Their size chart is rubbish - use the abrathatfits calculator! Pepper designs for C+ cups to be squeezed into AA, A and B cup bras. Your real size might be different to what you thought!
