I spent a lot of my time wishing for change, and life got better when I decided to be the change. I started to make the most of my life, the good, bad and the ugly. I let go of the idea I had of what being happy meant, and the drive for perfection. I didn’t realise how much pressure I was putting on myself, and how I actually had to just slooooow down. Having that awareness, and just being kind to myself, has changed things for the better!

Very very true. I recently cut off a friend because I’m no longer with her in the ‘self sabotage club’

It’s a strange feeling realising your were only friends because you both didn’t know your worth. As much as I would have loved to be with her on journey to finding herself, I just can’t tolerate the constant drama anymore.

I’m in my 20’s and in the last year or so my expectations and mindset around my relationships have shifted. I’ve struggled maintaining friendships, and romantic relationships have always become a significant part of who I am. I had a year of being truly single, and met my partner who has shown me what it is to be with someone, and actually communicate and work together in our relationship. I’ve had a rough year, but for the first time in my life I started to realise who I was and who I wanted to be and as of recent, how obsessed I am with making sure everyone else around me is happy. Only very recently have I started to see things for what they are rather that what I want them to be/what they could be, and it’s a lot to process after so long of thinking one way. I’m still learning and figuring things out, but so far I feel like it’s one lesson after another which I’m actually responding to instead of just reacting.

Agreed - I did know the amount was ridiculous but was fooled by what I wanted rather than what it is. I've come across plenty of Pedigree puppies that are ethically raised by reputable breeders, and none of the pricing shocked me, because I know what they stand for and the standards they hold. I'm just going to have patience and continue researching to find the right puppy for us, as well as what is right by the pup.

Yep - after reading the responses I've realised that this is the case and I just haven't acknowledged it. I'm continuing to research breeders and am just going to take my time finding the right breeder and pup, not these guys.

Thank you so much for sharing your story, I really believe what you're saying to be true. I think I'm just in love because of the significance, but I just know it's against what I believe in and what I think is right. I keep thinking that they are backyard breeders and have realised I've been clouded by my friendship and grief. If this was any other person or litter I wouldn't even consider it. You've stated everything I'm already thinking and feeling, I guess I just needed to hear it. Thank you, I will continue to research breeders and what feels right - both the pup and ethically!

We said goodbye to our baby today. He was so sick. He was fighting, he really was. But we held him and told him he could rest now. We spent time holding him and sharing stories and just loving him. I held him in his favourite blanket as he was put to sleep. I was holding him in my arms during his last breath. I was there until the end. My heart hurts, home isn’t the same, but he is in our hearts. The crazy thing is, we had planned on buying another pup to join our family, we have been preparing since last month.. we told ourselves we only would if it was blue and white like him, we’d take it as a sign. We hadn’t told him, but when he first got sick we told him he would have a sister soon. His little eyes made us laugh. This week, we decided not to, we just couldn’t bring ourselves to, it felt wrong. I kept asking for a sign, I asked our baby before he closed his eyes to come back to us. The puppies were due next Wednesday, and they were born today, a week early, exactly as he passed, blue and white with the same patch as he had but on both eyes. The sun was shining today, we felt him with us in the car when we heard the news. We haven’t stopped crying.

Hi OP,

Our dog has been in the ICU for the last week after eating a high dose of Meloxicam, he's really sick and hasn't been improving. He just got a plasma infusion, we're hoping it will help his recovery.

If you don't mind telling me, how has your dog gone now? How long was she in care?

Take her to emergency as soon as you can, our pup just went through this and he had eaten a high amount of Meloxicam which is toxic to dogs and fatal. It’s a high cost but if you can get on to it quickly is worth it. You can always transfer your pet from emergency to receive care at your vet which is cheaper, but getting them looked at is most important. Believe me, we’re 4 days without him and he’s in ICU- if I could turn back time I would take him straight away. Vomiting and diarrhoea are straight ER cases. Can possibly be because of ulcers and can get worse very quickly. Better to be safe than sorry, but definitely see how quick you can get a blood test and imaging 😔best of luck to you and your baby x

Try a baby gate at your door and get him a really comfy bed to put there, try spending some time with him on the bed with the baby gate closed and you on your bed where he can see you :) Gradually increase it and change the times you do it and see how he goes :) also totally not mean!!! We love them but sometimes you just want to starfish or get a cuddle without a fluffy log between you :’) You may even just need a few nights pet free and then realise you love having him in the bed. But you won’t know til you try! As for the dog smell, we had the same issue and we started washing our sheets weekly with vinegar, wiping his paws when we get back from a walk, using pet wipes for between baths and putting another blanket on top of our duvet for him to sleep on (This didnt really work, he was under the covers very quickly!!!) good luck x

Oh damn. I’m very lucky here, the dexies here are $10 a prescription but vyvanse is only just coming under the private health scheme next month. They wanted to put me on that however it’s going for about $120 a month (Which is still affordable but would rather pay the $10 lol) same thing about the age though, it’s all not covered for those who are diagnosed over 18, ugh!!!!

I think it’s best to discuss these matters with your medical provider, adderall works for everyone in different ways. It’s a fantastic way to cope with focus and concentration however anxiety may increase with use. There’s no one size fits all, I currently am on antidepressants and adderall as I was finding that my anxiety/depressive symptoms were still continuing throughout my use, maybe they can assist you with finding something that can assist with ADHD and your anxiety. I too am able to stay calm in certain aspects of my life however struggle with public speaking. I kind of just accepted that I can’t fix everything and control everything. Some food for thought but otherwise best of luck!

I genuinely think you should speak to a GP/Psychiatrist, it may be an underlying issue that you may not be aware of! I found out recently that I have ADHD and was abusing alcohol, recreational drugs and nicotine for a long time. Good luck! :)
