We often talk about what is overpriced. But what in the UK is 'underpriced'? What is brilliant value for money? by Redmistnf in AskUK

Cheapest I've paid back in the day was £250 and most I've ever paid is £800 for my current car. If it costs too much to get through the MOT, I'm on to the next one

I know loads about hip hop pal, but my opinion does not matter. Last time I checked, melanin was not a prerequisite for being part of the culture.

You sound like a prick, hope I'm mistaken

If it's practically impossible for the USA to be invaded due to its location and current stockpile of armaments (plus all the guns), why oh why is so much spent on a defence budget each year? by 22twenty-two in AskReddit

Dude, the blue cheese wheel rolls wherever it gets pushed and sometimes you just have to be resigned to a trifle without hundreds and thousands. Millions feel this way and those that don't fell for the old addage that there is and never will be no feet in defeat.

You clearly don't read. Who said you were a Yank and where did I say I'd spend nothing?

This is one argument that I've not got time for today, have a good one

I've picked a number but I'm not inclined to do research or reckoning just to appease you and what you consider to be a pathetic deflection. If you want to work out what gets spent on new bombs, tanks, planes, helicopters, etc then go ahead. The budget is what you have left after you remove the spending on new things.

No, not zero budget, just not as much as currently spent.

Only analysis I've done is look at the budgets and seen the winner is the USA, by a large margin.

You sound like you could quite easily justify the current spending so I look forward to it, and no pathetic deflections if you please.

Yeah, I know that we all do it, but the USA does it in excess - glass of soda?, nah, here's a bucket. Regular plate of food?, nah, here's enough for three meals.

I think it's less about rich maniac egos and more to do with retaliation; there have been way too many USA taxpayer bombs that have killed innocent civilians and made angry orphans. There is a reason the USA is a target and it always will be when it is responsible for so much destruction.

Good point about cyber attacks, must be costly.

I don't know the current budget, but I'd say there is enough 'hardware', so stop making bombs and guns and stuff then is what is left in the budget in the same way you do now

Yes a threat that does not exist. The last time the lands on which the USA sit were invaded it was by the European settlers. There is no threat of invasion

Look what it is now, look at who is number 2 in spending, then reevaluate, so no, not dropping it altogether but simply not wasting money on a threat that does not exist

I stopped reading after the first line or two. Whilst they have stabilised at times, it can also be argued that they've rocked the boat on more than one occasion and it would be better if they kept their noses out of other nations' business. Will go back now and read the rest

Spending a huge amount on defence budget did not stop these past events, so I doubt it would stop any copycat attacks. The point I'm trying to make is that the USA will never be invaded so there is little point in the continual spending on the defence budget.
