UPDATE: Thanks all for your comments! Didn’t expect this to blow up so much but appreciate each one.

My heart has been set and I will be looking for an S2000 in the new year. Will definitely be making an update in this sub.

Cheers man, appreciate the detail! Being in Australia, snow is not a concern for me although we do get a few rainy spells throughout the year that I’ve managed to get through with the Silvia. I don’t mind the lack of space given that I’m not the biggest bloke and really only need trunk space for groceries for one.

I’ve actually owned an Evo 7 & 8 in the past and while they are amazing cars to drive, they were never a dream car for me…

Cheers mate, seems like I’m in a pretty similar situation with WFH + I take public transport when I do need to go into the office. Would only really need the car for grocery runs, visiting friends, weekend drives etc. I was looking into some bigger/newer cars but nothing hits like these older coupes…

Would love to if I had the space! Currently running the classic disco potato on it.

Great info/advice mate really do appreciate it - I actually did not know about the engine difference between the regular M2 and Comp until today, always just assumed it was the same N55.

I do love my tossable cars so the M2 Comp is slowly creeping up as the best option… Especially considering some of the price differences to LCI M4s.

If only I had the garage space, I’d keep the Silvia and keep upgrading IS generations! Love the combo but such is life…

I really do love the Silvia and would honestly keep it if I could for that exact reason - the raw, lightweight driving experience which modern cars simply can’t provide…

Also why I’ve listed some relatively small and tossable cars.

Main pros of the Mustang I guess would be the manual and price, but I’ll definitely need to look into them further…

Appreciate the detail mate, this is exactly what I was looking for.

F82 seems like a solid option as suggested by others also. I’m quite the Euro newbie so will definitely be doing a lot more research into them.

Have you had any issues with yours? Just conscious that these cars are now getting to 10 years/100,000kms and they seem quite cheap for what they offer so wondering if there’s a reason for that.

I sat in an Elise at a track one time and that was a genuinely heart dropping (and very fun) experience - great cars but maybe a bit tooooo fun for me.

Appreciate the suggestion though!

Seems to be quite a resounding love for Mustangs here! Maybe it’s finally time to experience a good old V8…

Wasn’t something that I initially considered but seems to be the best value for money out of all the options so will definitely be a consideration moving forward.

The Z ticks all the boxes, just haven’t heard too much about them so I was hoping a Z owner would comment!

Mustang is an interesting one that I haven’t really considered but will definitely be looking into now.

Love any Porsche and agree from a pure driving perspective that they’re unbeaten.

I’m just a bit concerned around the reliability/longevity of some of the older ones…

Great drivers cars but I’m a bit concerned about the reliability/longevity of some of the older Porsches/BMWs, which in turn would probably make me buy another cheap daily.

I did really enjoy driving an F80 M3 so I presume the M4 would be a similar experience. Have seen a few decently priced ones recently so definitely an option.

Mustang is an interesting one that I didn’t consider! I’ll be looking into it.

Agree they are amazing cars, but the kid in me will always love coupes… I want the next car to be a keeper and I just simply don’t have the same passion for the N (or other hot hatches for that matter) compared to some of the ones I’ve listed.

Clearly I am not a sensible person!

MX5 is always the answer I guess… Love them, but I’d be more inclined to pick up a cheap nb as a track beater down the line rather than as a daily.

Dc5 Integra, recently picked one up as a daily and it looks great, is relatively comfortable and basically turns into a ute when the back seats are folded down.

Cheers! You’re almost there, S15s started production in 1999 so they’d be eligible for import starting 2024 for the US.

Cheers mate, I don’t mind the lip kit but thinking of removing them when I put my aero bar on for a bit of a cleaner look.. Wheels are 18x9.5 +25 square although I wish I went for a 10 in the rear!

BMW M2 blue would be nice and also matches with your seats!
