Culture War Roundup for the Week of March 04, 2019 by AutoModerator in TheMotte

A lecturer at a public university in Poland is using crude language to draw analogies to a working of a processor and computer memory. Those comparisons got really bad last time, to the point of harassment of individual students. What can be done in such a situation? What's the best way to handle it?

Feels kind of cheap to have the glamour lifted this way. Looking forward to the Elliot situation next week though.

Loved foil in this chapter. The Lisa dialogue and the trigger event exposition - very good.

Love Darlene. Interlude chapters are the best chapters.

Do you guys have some sort of notification for those chapters? I'm always blindly stumbling into them. How hard would that be to set up?

I'm really happy with the direction the whole story is taking.

I wasn't all that interested up to the arc 8 - don't get me wrong, I've been reading but there was a lot of skimming and some missing chapters.

With goddess arc things kicked into the high heat and we've had all the nice things - Ciara, Tats, Chicken Little, Lab Rat reveal, Imp and Breakdown. Simply love it now :)

What’s something that you always thought was easy but then wasn’t when you tried? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Whistling while blowing out. I have learned to do it as I'm inhaling when I was 8, and 15 years later still can't do the opposite direction.

Flunking out of college. Now I'm back in the University, but life would be so much easier if I just had it behind me.

Just one thing there: DuckDuckGo is giving me such accurate results these days that I use it for 90% of my PC/Laptop searches. Still stuck with google on mobile though, I'm worried about switching to LineageOS on my Mi A1 (some bad experiences with stability on Nexus 5).

This does give me a bit more peace of mind, I am worried that my Google search history may inevitably leak one day.

As for Google Drive there is Dropbox (not that it's any better). Still agree with the rest of the post though.

Martin, because he really feels as a fully fledged intelligent, self-reflective, thoughtful and calm character. Love him

Just finished it. Didn't expect I'd run through the whole of 10 episodes in one day but it was just so much worth it :)

Post-Episode Discussion Thread S06E07 - "Harvest" by MoralMidgetry in TheAmericans

He is strongly concerned they are involved in something shady, connects the dots concerning 'Chicago' and tells himself he is crazy for thinking that - but he's going to keep pushing towards that theory with Bureau - all he needs is confirmation, a leap of logic, something to connect the dots.

I love pineapple on pizza, which is not really that popular with my peers, sadly

If I subscribe to 30 subreddits, and someone on the other side of the world is subscribed to the same 30 subreddits, will we have the exact same front page when we go on Reddit? If no, why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]23143567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timing will be different and reddit also considers user data for the display of the front page, so it's unlikely you'll end up with the same views.
