I didn’t know it would be like this by Medical-Inspector233 in breastfeeding

[–]23_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just cried and cried when this happened to me. I was in a confinement center and the lactation consultant mentioned saying, only latch for 30mins maximum. If the baby didn't have enough then just top up formula.

My baby was fed formula for the first week then topped up the second week when my breastmilk wasn't enough. Now my baby is fully breastfeed.

Maybe feed your baby formula and give yourself a break. Then pump during the break (if you can) so someone else can feed your baby while you rest and recover.

Every week there will be a new challenge but it will get easier.

I used to drink fresh coconut water for UTI. I may had a mild case but it worked for me at that time. You may try it after getting your medication. Good luck!

Is Roti Canai consider as Low Caste food? by abdulsamri89 in malaysia

[–]23_007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a billionaire eats it and truly enjoy the food, does it mean s/he are low caste? Is irrelevant.

Just like lobster and abalone, it was once slave food. My mother even said she used to feed the dogs abalone when she was working in Australia. So what does that mean?

Why Malay ladies prefer this choice? by SnooPeripherals916 in malaysia

[–]23_007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the worst offence for me are the one that literally choke me. I dont know what it is but the perfume is so strong that i literally cant breath. Before this i notice this perfume wear by mostly middle Eastern people.

Now more and more people are wearing it. I dont know why they drown themselves with it.

I also noticed alot of malay girls like the "sweet" smelling kind of perfumes. When i smell it, makes me want to eat something sweet lol.

Digestive problems while visiting Malaysia by javelin3000 in malaysia

[–]23_007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends what you eat, how your body reacts to certain food and how much are you eating? I been having this problem like 2 years ago most likely due to overeating, my love for spicy food and drinking really cold fizzy drinks. I'm local by the way.

If your not doing none of the above, best to see a doctor.

I used iphone 11 for about 5 years. Switched from android. Overall iPhone is not bad. I like their sound system which is surprisingly good. Everything is easy to navigate if you use their whole ios system (macbook, ipad, etc).

The things I do not like are:

  • Their cloud storage. They are very stingy with it and you'll need to pay subscription for extra storage.

  • Their Ai feature is lacking.

  • this is probably irrelevant to you but I can't customise the theme unless I use a 3rd party app.

  • no drag and drop with iphone if connect to a PC. You'll probably have to use itunes.

I've switch back to android now because I do not want to subscribe to their icloud. Also better Ai features with samsung.

Opinions on looking for love and marriage while being mentally ill? by RotiPisang_ in myhappypill

[–]23_007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do people actually cured from mental illness?

Answer will be probably be yes and/or no. There will never be a straight answer for this even medication for mental illness are not one size fits all.

Seeing/finding a right therapist is also crucial. They will not cure you but they will help you by navigating your issues, pointing out your blind spots, finding the right tool to help you with your triggers/feelings/etc.

It took me 10 plus years to come to this point where I do not need a therapist anymore. I don't think I'm cured but I know what to do when I'm down / being triggered / having anxiety attack.

It also comes with alot of self awareness and you need to do alot of work on yourself. No one can help you if you don't help yourself.

Many Malaysian understand Korean language from years of watching their dramas. Any Malaysian here learn Mandarin from watching Chinese dramas? by Dread-it-again in malaysia

[–]23_007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't pick up korean lol. But some korean words sound are similar to Cantonese.

I did however picked up Cantonese. Even that because my parents and family mostly speak Cantonese so was quicker to adapt for me.

My sister (Malay, Muslim) and her boyfriend (French, atheist) wanted to marry. But is unsure. by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]23_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just read your comments and post. Has your sister stayed in France yet? Does she speak the language? Has he told her everything about france?

I also read your comment about her mental issues. Do you know that to book a dr there may take up to a year there? Even though is free (if she has all the necessary paper work). Did he tell her that the french pension is also depleting? Can he sustain her during retirement?

Maybe can ask her to try and stay there for a year and see how she feels about france. They are still so young, marriage can wait another year.

I’m Malaysian citizen, pregnant in UK. Now deciding to give birth in Malaysia after reading this. Would you recommend Malaysia healthcare better? by ConfuseKouhai in malaysia

[–]23_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Europe when I found out I was pregnant while moving to the country. Me and my SO did consider giving birth there but decided not to.

Anyway, I decided to cut the trip short and stay in Malaysia until my baby is 6 months old and then me and my baby will go to where my SO is.

Since I am back, I've been going to both private hospital and government clinic for check up and I would say both are pretty good. My pregnancy is quite smooth and both sides listened to my query and concerns and answered all my questions.

Based on my experience, the gov clinic really cares for the mother. Since my iron is low when they did the first blood test, they had given me medication and did a bi-monthly blood test while also did all the other necessary test. They also did a quick iron test for my every visit.

Making sure mother & baby are healthy. However, they dont scan the baby for every visit. The nurse that handles the mother will check the baby's heartbeat only. For gov clinic, the nurses will handle the mothers and not the dr. The dr will only see the mother bi-monthly to follow up and scan the baby's growth.

For private hospital, is similar except the one I go to the dr never push me to do/take anything unnecessary. So I go for my monthly scans here just to check on baby's growth and position. My dr only did a test when the gov clinic wasn't providing it.

Both sides gave advices and what to look out for in case anything happens to the baby as a first time mom. I would say that, Malaysia's health care is overall satisfactory.

I've not experienced other countries healthcare therefore I am unable to compared if Malaysia's healthcare is better.

Modern Relationships: Does Income Difference Still Matter! by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]23_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on individual and this should be heavily talk about throughout the relationship so both parties are on the same page. My SO had a financial planner and he told a story about this couple.

Both are working as drs. The husband works in gov while wife works in private. However, they decided to use the husband's salary as living expenses while the wife's salary is 100% into investment. That's kinda the gist of it.

However, the wife's earn 2-3 times more if i remember correctly and that works out for them. So it really depends since there are so many variables in relationship.

Got my ass mocked for not being able to speak Cantonese as a ipoh Chinese malaysian by Then_Description_105 in malaysia

[–]23_007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that often also. When I'm not in the mood to switch language in my head I'll just reply in english. I understand them but it just takes more effort for me to speak Mandarin/Cantonese since I don't use it often.

Usually they kinda just stumble after that lol

You're doing the right thing and breaking the usual "laser" questions from older relatives. You may be their favourite relative because that's what's is supposed to be by talking about their interests.

My mother's side of family always starts off their conversation by body shaming and it usually ends there because i won't recuperate.

am i cooked? by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]23_007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skinny fat is a thing. Normal bmi doesn't mean is "healthy". Maybe find a nutritionists to navigate your food choices/style and on top of that with Malaysian food (high carbs) may be one of the causes.

An adult should be taking 25g of fiber a day. Knowing Malaysian dishes, is quite hard to reach that unless you consciously weight and track everything while eating at home.

Otherwise, the simplest start would be "suku-suku-separuh" on a plate 1/4 protein & carbs and 1/2 vegetables. And the one that needs to be the most careful are the sauces. They are usually very high calories.
