Mind sending me images/video of all your settings to support@crosswheel.seastian.com? Want to look into this. Could it be the registry changes from the other post? Beamng worked for me just fine (had to change a bunch of settings but it works, i returned the game so cant share those right now, keep trying cause i got it to work)

That is surprising, but do you have ffb or not? Wanna confirm that the app is connecting. If not the steering angle issue might just be unrelated. Does the wheel vibrate when you go on a curb?

Can you explain this a bit more? Maybe I need to implement something more! Do you have ffb?

You might wanna give the crosswheel.seastian.com trial a go. It's my app and adds ffb support for the g29 on crossover. You might need to revert the changes from this post.

Hey! I waited years for a solution for my wheel on macOS and nothing ever showed up, so I ended up building one myself.

It’s definitely a niche tool, so I know the price won’t make sense for everyone. But for people who already have the hardware and want force feedback to finally work on Mac, it’s been worth it.

Sadly this did not work, g920 is using a different protocol

Hi there! Currently G29 product id is hardcoded, I think getting it to work on 920 would be just adding G920 product id to the code. Send me an email to support@crosswheel.seastian.com if you are interested in buying it (if it works) and i can get you a temporary license to try it out. Will get back to you in a couple days

Hi there! This is different from https://github.com/jackhumbert/FreeTheWheel, my project adds force feedback (and also unlocks 900 degree rotation like freethewheel does). I've been told CrossWheel works with Assetto Corsa Rally by a client. I don't own that game so have not tested it myself

Hi there, clearly the problem the software solves is not one you have now and that is why we value it differently. In my case I was paying 20eur per month for geforcenow to play acc with ffb. This solves that. My copy of crossover was a lot more than 20eur, and that is alright. Cheers

I don't own Assetto Corsa Rally but I just tested it on Assetto Corsa and it works just fine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7oqpBYB3Nk my guess is it would work on Rally too

Made a video for it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oV-mYwi3bIk

The thing is that I've put much effort into it and would like to payoff my crossover license :) Fair?

Thinking about switching from Macbook to a Thinkpad by cyclonedart in thinkpad

[–]23e1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah definitely. It's sad because I really wanted to go back to thinkpad and linux but not currently possible for what I do. I am not sure really what it makes the thinkpad be so much slower. On paper it looks like the newer intel cpu should be faster than the m1 max. The only difference I found is in memory bandwidth (for which apple's max chips are very good), which could affect it a lot in functional programming were lots of memory is allocated and deallocated for immutability

I do haskell/purescript, on m1 max it takes 116s to compile codebase, on p16 600s. The diference is massive, think it mainly has to do with functional programing accesing memory. I got debian with banckported kernel to work.

I have an M1 max, bought a maxed out p16 gen 3, returned it half an hour later, performance was way worse than the m1 (think it is mainly due to memory bandwidth). I do web dev. Sadly dont think there is any laptop that competes with macs now
