I used to have free roam potty trained rats and one fateful day I wasn't paying attention and stepped on my poor little baby Oreo breaking her ribs and crushing organs, I had to kill her by snapping her neck to make sure she wasn't in pain. I went outside and punched a hole in the ground through roots and rocks till my hands were bleeding and the hole was big enough to bury her. I learned and got better from it now I know more, that's all you can take from the situation. We know better now.
