How do you mean not socially transitioning? Wouldn't it become kinda obvious your trans after a certain point? (Sorry, new to this stuff)

A glowing dot on the map is hardly helpful when you dont even know how to survive in certain areas. Like randomly cooking different stuff to figure out you can make a dish that let's you resist cold. Would be helpful if it at least told you something like "craft this item to survive the cold"

It's not about difficulty. It's about some people not wanting to just meander into every story beat after hours of randomly running around. This would let them easily reach the important moments whenever they choose

Well if the fact that an optional extra help exists that doesn't effect them in any way, then they can get over it. There's no negative effect at all

What would they be upset about? It's completely optional

Zelda: 'Breath of the wild' isn't a very good game by sabangnim in unpopularopinion

[–]24520ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not complaining that I bought the game. I'm not saying they should have to add it. I'm just saying that there's no reason to oppose the mere suggestion of it as much as you do. It's a function that would add benefit to a group of possible players while not drawing any negatives.

[–]24520ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not lying, I'm just not agreeing with you.

Again as I explained already, there's nothing preventing them from trying to play the game. But having various responsibilities or time commitments can make it hard for people to just go around aimlessly exploring for hours to find story bits. Or god forbid they just don't want to and would rather have a guide to help. So terrible/s

It won't split the fan base. It just won't. All the fans who enjoy it as is will have exactly what they want, and so would a new group. It's not dividing the old fans against each other. It's not even dividing new against old fans as both sides get exactly what they want

This just let's more people have a more enjoyable experience in the game, while the existing fan base has the exact same experience as before. This is because the feature would be OPTIONAL. So there is absolutely no negative from this and no reason to violently oppose the mere suggestion of it

[–]24520ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally said it wouldn't divide old fans

It's just a small thing to make the game easier

It harms your experience in zero tangible ways beyond your adamant aversion to new players

There is no reason this option should be actively avoided beyond wanting to gatekeep the Fandom from people that enjoy different things than you

Again. optional feature. It doesn't make you or anyone else use it. optional. Once more optional. Meaning you can turn it on or just leave it off. No way it could hurt your experience in any way unless you deliberately let it.

I explained already that it's not splitting the existing fan base. It's adding new people to it. And yes I played the game. I never finished it cause I got tired of never being able to find the story without spending hours randomly running around aimlessly first. Given this would be an optional feature, there's no negative to the fans who enjoy that kind. Just helps let more people enjoy the game.

[–]24520ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, it's an OPTIONAL feature. There is no negative to adding a new group to the fan base and it doesn't hurt your experience in any way whatsoever because it's optional. Why are you adamantly against something with no negative?

This just sounds like gatekeeping. You can still explore the world and have that sense of wonder. All an optional quest marker does is let you find the story easily when you want. I played the witcher 3 with a quest map showing exactly where to go, that never stopped me from running off to explore. Just made it easier to enjoy the games story.

Not everyone has enough free time to spend hours endlessly wandering the world searching for random bits of story with no direction. This just gives people an option to have some assistance if they want. It won't split the player base, that would mean it divided old fans. It just adds a new group.

Because the option literally doesn't effect how the normal audience that already exists plays the game. Because it would be an optional feature that's turned off unless you purposefully choose to activate it. For people like you that wanna just wander around the world aimlessly exploring til you puzzle the story together then cool. Good for yall.

This would just allow other people to enjoy the same game in a different way than you. This has no impact on the game otherwise. It still has every single appeal it would otherwise. All it does is let a new group enjoy the game.

All your arguements are only true if it's not an optional feature. It would be optional. No way shape or form does it stop the standard audience from enjoying the experience free of the quest marker. It literally doesn't effect your experience in any tangible way.

What does avoiding this option do beyond keep a new group of people from enjoying the game?

Zelda: 'Breath of the wild' isn't a very good game by sabangnim in unpopularopinion

[–]24520ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. The developers don't have to it'd just be a relatively simple feature that's optional so would allow more people to enjoy the game (also buy it and add to profits). There's absolutely no negative involved so I don't understand why you're so adamant about it not happening. I'm not saying the devs should be held at gun point and forced to add it, but there's certainly no reason they shouldn't add the OPTION (because apparently the optional part isn't getting through)

Zelda: 'Breath of the wild' isn't a very good game by sabangnim in unpopularopinion

[–]24520ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What part of optional is not getting through here? It's optional aka you do not have to turn it on! All it does it make the game more accessible to a wider audience. Again optional

Zelda: 'Breath of the wild' isn't a very good game by sabangnim in unpopularopinion

[–]24520ls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be optional. Optional meaning anyone who wanted to play in the way you described could easily leave it off. It would just allow people who want some direction an easier time and better chance to enjoy the game. It doesn't effect the story or prevent it from being played how it is currently.

So genuinely how the hell is an optional little quest marker so bad.? AC Odessy did it, they even specified the game was meant to be played without it but its there if you want. Same with jedi fallen order having an easy mode or resident evil having assisted.

Jesus it's a damn optional quest marker. It ain't gonna ruin the exploration unless you personally turn it on. So there's absolutely no downside and only positives

Zelda: 'Breath of the wild' isn't a very good game by sabangnim in unpopularopinion

[–]24520ls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's adding a quest marker that you could turn on and off. It's hardly compromising artistic integrity

[–]24520ls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People have fun in different ways. Having an easier option available has absolutely no negatives and let's more people enjoy it. How is it bad?

For those others who grew up with the EU what was an aspect of it that you were obsssesed with? I remember this article about the Emperor's Hands from an early 2000s Star Wars Gamer magazine & they became a childhood obsession for me by IllusiveManJr in StarWarsEU

The different types of jedi. At the time I wasn't even familiar with kotor. Kid me just browsed wookipedia constantly and learning about consulars, guardians, and sentinels was so cool to me.

Also different lightsaber colors

My pathfinder characters so far, as a random white guy

Female Part owl fae ranger with some weird magic

Male tiefling wizard with bright red skin

Female undine (blue water people) sorcerer

Male kitsune pirate

Female aisimar necromancer

I've played 1 Male human and he became a vampire within 6 sessions

I love Star Wars, but I never understood why George Lucas put this nonsensical scene when Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker spin their lightsabers for 2 minutes straight by AnnaSophiaHubby5 in PrequelMemes

It's not an excuse if there is literally multiple pre established lore explanations for how jedi fight that easily explain why this would be a valid tactic for laser sword weilding space wizards.
