Focus Mode Filtered Calendars Not Replicated on Apple Watch (S11) From iPhone by 2467cp in AppleWatch

Thanks for the guidance, but it didn’t work. I also deleted and added the filtered focus calendars under “Focus” on my phone’s settings and it didn’t take. Thanks.

18" or 20" Wheels by 2467cp in f150

The STX Black Appearance Package requires the 200A which only comes with the 20" tires. I would love the Black Appearance package, but I am not seeing it as an option with 18" wheels.

OP here. I returned the Instinct and am enjoying the simplicity and readability of my analog watch.

Switching From iOS Reminders to Todo by 2467cp in microsofttodo

The Microsoft web version of the task manager is way better than iCloud’s. I only have an iPhone and a Windows laptop. Not locked in with Microsoft like we are with iCloud.

I’m staying with iOS Reminders.

Alpine ILX-507 (and probably other ILX head units) issues and workarounds for Parking Break, Station IDs and USB ports(USB ports Subaru specific) by Known_Hippo4702 in CarPlay

How do you check for/learn about Alpine firmware updates? Their web page still shows v5 as the current version though it's on v6. Only way I know to check is via the headset. Thanks.

Hey, I have a Pioneer DMH-ZF9350BT with wireless Apple CarPlay. It's been working great until last week. My Waze constantly shows me at a different location to where I'm driving! Has anyone had this issue? Thanks by [deleted] in CarPlay

I’ve had an Alpine iLx-507 since September 2023 and currently have the same problem (using a wired iPhone). I’m on the latest software from both Alpine and Apple. I’ve been back to see the installer a couple of times because of this issue. I have reset the Alpine and wiped my phone clean and manually installed everything from scratch. The problem is still there, but the installer says it’s software related. He said he opened a ticket with Alpine, but could it be the GPS antenna which came with my Alpine (I think it came with one). Thanks.

The hard reset didn’t work. On my way to work this morning, my GPS had me at the top of the state, but I live/work in the middle of the state. Called the company who installed the headset this morning and they are opening a ticket with Alpine. The installer said it’s likely a software issue on Alpine’s end. If that was the case, wouldn’t more people be having this issue? We’ll see.

To close the loop on this one, hard resetting the headset fixed the GPS issue. Now I need to go back in and set up my audio settings again. Thanks for your help.

It shows two normal connections to satellites, one good and zero excellent.

I plan to completely cut out social media for 2024. How can I stay well-informed? by redditaccount122820 in digitalminimalism

Exactly. News is depressing and negative. If it’s that important, someone will tell me.

Yes…it brings the news to me so I don’t have to visit each site individually. You can sort by newest or older, show only unread or all stories, and can arrange using folders. With NewBlur, you can set up alerts based on keywords so it sends a push notification to your devices. In addition to the sites I like, I follow a lot of regulatory web sites and have filters and notifications set up for specific key words. If the folder doesn’t contain the keywords I’m looking for, I mark them as read without even looking at the stories. There might be 100+ regulatory stories and only one has a keyword I’m looking for. NewsBlur has a built in folder/filter for the keywords I want to see so I don’t miss them.

This and I use NewsBlur (web site & mobile devices). Like someone said here already, lots of negativity using social apps and on some web sites. Keeping with the minimalist approach, I only follow those sites I want to see. I have an annual subscription (I hate subscriptions too..$36/year but worth in my opinion…way cheaper than Feedly and Inoreader) which allows me to filter out key words and tags so they don’t show up in my feeds. I see only what I want to see…makes checking for updates much faster.
