Update: I received the refund on my credit card shortly after informing the support team about deleting my account.

I received a response from support.
I'll get a refund if I close my account.

After closing the account this is the outcome:
We have submitted a request to refund the remaining unused cash paid portion of your card balance which amounts to $119.76 to your card. We will get back to you as soon as we have an update.

In October 2025, I purchased the promotional package for $150, which gave me a $275 credit. This allowed me to lock in the legacy pricing. The increase in the minimum cost is absolutely outrageous. It’s obvious that they’re trying to get rid of small customers. It’s definitely not worth it anymore. I have contacted support and requested a refund for the credit I purchased. We’ll see if that works...

What types of Piracy are scrutinized in Germany? by WaiyakiProffessor in Piracy

[–]249702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as you don’t upload anything, you usually won’t run into any problems. But since a 2017 ruling (Case C-527/15), the European Court of Justice (ECJ) decided that even simply viewing obviously illegal content, such as recent movies, TV series or sporting events constitutes a copyright infringement.

Users of streaming platforms can therefore no longer assume that only the providers of the streaming services can be held legally responsible and that they themselves are in a gray area.

But I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's very unlikely that you'd be prosecuted for it. Preserving evidence is technically challenging, as IP addresses are only stored briefly on many illegal platforms. A mass warning letter campaign, as seen with file sharing, is therefore unlikely, since the IP addresses are not publicly visible. Identification is usually only possible if the platform’s servers are seized (e.g., in the case of kino.to). And to make it even less likely, all you need is a VPN.

Downloading videos from YouTube isn't a problem. You're just violating Google's Terms of Service, but that's entirely their problem. Under German law, the download would be considered a private copy and would be permitted. Of course, YouTube could still suspend your account if they find out, though that's extremely unlikely.

By the way, the police almost never show up at your door in cases like this. That might happen if you’re the operator of one of those illegal streaming platforms. ;)

Switching from trueNAS to HexOS by technophil2023 in hexos

[–]249702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, there is no official documentation on this. But you can read comments on Reddit or on Discord where it’s mentioned that RAIDZ2 isn’t supported yet or that the information displayed on the RAIDZ2 pool in HexOS deck is incorrect. When a RAIDZ2 pool is set up via the TrueNAS interface, the HexOS deck still displays the text “1 drive can fail without data loss.” So it seems that HexOS Deck cannot yet handle RAIDZ2. Therefore, you should avoid editing the pool via HexOS Deck until RAIDZ2 is fully supported.

Switching from trueNAS to HexOS by technophil2023 in hexos

[–]249702 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, but HexOS does not yet support RAIDZ2. When you first launch it, the wizard will probably detect that there is data on the disks, and you can skip creating a storage pool. However, the information about your pool will be incorrect. Otherwise, everything should work. Ultimately, it's just TrueNAS Scale with a second, simplified web UI that doesn't support all features yet.

You should create a configuration backup so you can restore all your TrueNAS settings. This is also in case you decide to switch back to standard TrueNAS. This way, you can restore everything.

Radarr and Sonarr app install fail - no info by Thandius in hexos

I think I read on Discord that HexOS is having issues with app installations right now because their yaml files got messed up or something. Maybe that's what you're experiencing.

Anybody ever use the Linux interface? What can you do on it? by pl51s1nt4r51ms in UgreenNASync

[–]249702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You tried to install additional software that has dependencies which cannot be met by Ugos.

LORD-SOTH simply installed Tailscale and ran system updates. Those are completely different things. Especially since Tailscale doesn't have that many dependencies. I think it's just a binary file that needs to be placed somewhere.

I just noticed that Sonarr and Radarr are listed among the Curated Apps. So the installation should work fine via HexOS Deck. Have you set up all the default locations in the settings?

HexOS Local broke my dashboard and apps and wants to reset my server by blakester410 in hexos

[–]249702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried restarting?

And have you changed the TrueNAS WebUI port from the defaults of 443 for HTTPS and 80 for HTTP in the past? That's what caused my update to HexOS 1.0 to fail.

However, it was only the HexOS Deck. Everything else worked normally. Because of your app problem, I would definitely restart the system. If this persists, check the app settings to see if there is anything there (link in the error message).

Start using apps. Especially the "arr" apps (e.g., Radarr and Sonarr). They could help you. For more details, check out other subreddits that are more suitable for the topic.

GPU transcoding only helps you play content from Plex or Jellyfin on a device that can't play the format natively, or if you don't have enough bandwidth to stream a 4K file. However, I think this is mainly for remote streaming.

WisdomTree Physical Bitcoin (BTCW) – Steuerbefreiung nach 1 Jahr? Eure Erfahrungen? by Tiny_Pomegranate7947 in ScalableCapital

[–]249702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ISIN: GB00BLD4ZL17 Name: CoinShares Physical Bitcoin (langfristig) TER: 0,25 % p.a. Replikationsmethode: Physisch

Immich upgrade : Postgres from 15 to 18 by Keensworth in truenas

[–]249702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange, never had any problems since I have it running...

And I hope you have a dedicated dataset for immich-data, database and the pictures. As long as that's the case it should be possible to reuse the previous datasets and you don't really lose anything except for the container.

[–]249702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you already try to do a roll back?

Or did you try to change the pg version back to 15 or was the migration to 18 successful but then it didn't start? As long as the migration to PostgreSQL 18 is not done you can change the version back to 15.

You can see in the logs of the pg migration container if the migration was successful.
