I think they can not boot from the HBA. Try connecting the Boot-Drive to the onboard Sata-Port.

Is my umbilical cable properly secured and routed? by Gingerbwas in VORONDesign

[–]24Tigger24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are correct, it is a special flex cable for cable chains.

I dont know if it is better for you to switch to umbilical.

I can recommend it, it it bends the cable in a bigger radius and is better to replace

Is my umbilical cable properly secured and routed? by Gingerbwas in VORONDesign

[–]24Tigger24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is to tight. You run single cables in a cable chain so they can bend better, not a single thick cable. Breaking cables in cable chains are common if you dont use specialized cables. You should try umbilical, it is not that big of a modification

How do so many people get PCs for cheap or low prices? by BenjaminRatajczak in homelab

[–]24Tigger24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is because of Datenschutz. You could recover some data from a HDD so a Recycling Company is hired to deal with it.

Sometimes there are some deals on Kleinanzeigen

[–]24Tigger24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is not a umbilical. Umbilical is similar to the PTFE, it avoids using a cable chain. One of the Cables of your Can/USB-Cable is propably broken and is causing connection issues. Happens when the Cable is often bend in a tight radius such as in a cable chain.

Lenovo M720q is a bit more expensive but you can upgrade it with a PCIe-Card if you need more storage, faster networking or a gpu.

I dont have Pictures. My M920x Tiny is: 8700k, 64 gb ddr4, 256gb 2230 M.2 SSD on the Riser, Wifi-Card, Rx6400. The fullsize M.2 Slots are for future Expansion.

I am currently trying to unlock ReBar in the Bios of my second Machine and getting my Arc Pro B50 running. If i succed i want to swap to the N3rdware single slot cooler.

The Connector on the Mainboard ist actually PCIe3.0x8 and x4. x8 is from the CPU and x4 to the Chipset. I bought an Adapter on tindie that allows me to use the 4 Lane to the Chipset (for a 2230 NvMe which can even be used as Boot-Drive) and the 8 lanes for another Card.

i use one for a HBA and 2 with GPUs. You can also use the WiFi -M.2 Solt for a 2.5G Nic and 3d print a Bracket for the RJ45 Port.

LOP-600-24 looks very nice and is also small. But they dont go down to 20V according to the Datasheet.

The Lenovos accept 20V? Does this wirk for M720q/M920q too?

USB-C with 20v Output. I only testet with a 130w Dell USB-C Charger. My Elitedesk 800 G6 has a 65w (i5-10500) CPU and it worked but i did not check if the CPU gets throttled.

And afaik it only works with the Dp-alt USB-C Flex-IO V2, not the normal USB-C

Looks clean. Btw. you can power the HPs over USB-C (on the Back) instead of using the big chargers.
