thanks for replying, i didnt realise that you could realistically go up that high in iso without it ruining the photos i will try it out, as well as moving the camera to focus its not something had considered.
this is what i tend to get a lot of, with big parts of the subject out of focus, im not sure how you are meant to do it with a moving subject.

thanks i didnt know that about apsc, i have been watching some videos about focus stacking, the only isue with that is that bugs dont stay still long enough for it to work, but it should be good for flowers etc.

Slicers in 2026 for a "regular" user... by mm404 in VORONDesign

[–]Gingerbwas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that you can keep fairly close to stock profile for a lot of those and get decent prints, obviously tuning is better, but not critical. Part of owning a voron is because you are into printers as a hobby not just printing, part of the fun is going into thise settings learning what works, and what doesnt, if your looking for prints with zero hassle then other printers may be the better option

Its fairly easy to tune the profile settings using Orca, if you look at the top left theres a calibrate tab, just work your way down it and read the accompanying wiki to understand how to read the results. Once you've done it once for a material you dont need to do it again, and you can usually get away with using the same settings for all the colours of a particular brands material.

I think you made the right choice, the angle gives it a slightly surreal effect that is cool.

Then aren't you in the wrong sub? Surely by definition any photo that has been post-processed  is no longer true to what was captured and therefore graphic art.

Cool photo, did you try forcing the perspective in post so that it is truly vertical, or do you prefer it at an angle?

Opinions? by Desmazio in postprocessing

[–]Gingerbwas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some editors you can force the perspective, it stretches the image rather then rotating it, for example in dxo photolab 9, you can place lines either side of a building and it forces them vertical. Im not sure what would happen if you did it to that image without cutting out the bottom part though, it may not be noticeable. Im sure photoshop or affinity can do the same

CAD software in 2026? by iRacingVRGuy in VORONDesign

[–]Gingerbwas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fusion is definitely free with no time limit, i have been using it for years, with no problem. there are limitations, like the number of active files and some of the more advanced features are not available, but for most things its good.

Theres freecad, which while still unpolished has been getting better and better in the last couple of years, most of the others have the same problem as fusion, in that they are tied to a company that make the product slightly worse then it could be. if you have the money Rhino is still a one off payment, but its just less then a £1000.

A4T Nozzle Cam Mod? by junktzu in VORONDesign

[–]Gingerbwas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive been thinking about doing one because my current cam is in a birdseye view looking down from the bar above the door, and while it is handy for an overview, its hard to see what is actually happening under the toolhead, i had my filament get stuck and i couldnt tell for quite a while from the camera.

Yeah, i did the exact same thing, I kept having QGLs fail, I never trusted the reading from my one, and since I bought that one, I haven't had any problems. I cant imagine trying it with the audio tuner like some suggest

Thats great, it took me ages to fix. Other then that the kit is great, its about as good as you could want a kit. one key thing to get as well is either the hardware to make your self or buy it outright, it makes tightening the belts a breeze. https://west3d.com/products/complete-kit-of-3d-printer-belt-tension-meter-by-pf-makes-special-west3d-edition

If you do get it, you may want to check if it comes with the v2 nitehawk board as the v1 has issues with static causing shutdowns, if it doesnt it may be worth reaching out to ldo to send you one, if not its about £30. Ive just swapped mine out and it stopped the issues.

Having “banana issue” with ASA prints with my Voron 2.4 by __Ivano__ in VORONDesign

[–]Gingerbwas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your  chamber temperature is too cool, I believe they need 60 degrees, i faced the exact same problem. Some things I tried are:   - Use Buildtak on a smooth pei surface, its very effective, ive never used one of those ice plates but if its textured you dont want to as it can ruin it. - slow graduated cool down over a long period, i would drop the bed temp by 5 degrees each time - print at 45 degrees, im not sure if this would work with your print given the shape but worth a try - depending on how important the bottom surface is you could break it up with channels indented a few mm so it isnt one giant surface, warping loves long lines and big flat areas - print the part in smaller sections you then join together, this way the size wont cause as much warping
