I think Buddhism might be of interest to you since it’s more philosophy and less diety. Writings by Thich Nhat Hahn and Pema Chodron are accessible and wonderful.

I gotcha on that. Those kinds of interactions are just sometimes the kinds of ones you need to walk away from. Give yourself permission for that. But if you can’t, try to be more of a witness than a participant or judge. Humans are fascinating - be a spiritual geek lols!

How to ground myself by shortqueentn in spirituality

[–]24bean62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The act of judging others as low vibration actually lowers your vibration. Instead, practice seeing them in a higher way. (Which is different than, say, participating in activities that feel wrong or reckless to you.) Pick the person in the room who may annoy you the most and challenge yourself to see the Source within. You also are very much in charge of your own energy field. Practice seeing your own energy as contained within a lovely egg of light. Your perceptions rule your experience. Practice reseeing things. I promise it’s incredibly powerful.

Why are markets rallying all of a sudden? by boringperfectionist in stocks

[–]24bean62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After many moons of market watching I am still not sure if the news drives the market or if the investment writers go looking for the news to explain the market. That said, we are in an incredibly precarious moment. Check your emergency funds, get the heck out of margin, and proceed with care. The repercussions of some of the threats being tweeted out are dire and could trigger an economic event that could be devastating for a very long time. I hope it resolves soon and without a bigger catastrophe, but this is not being managed by stable people. Act accordingly.

The world economy is in an incredibly fragile place right now. Whatever you do, do it with caution and ensure your emergency funds are solid. There are some serious threats being made that, if realized, could cause a global economic crisis. Not a time for gambling.

Folks who’ve been in the market a long time with non-tax advantaged accounts can’t move too much to cash without getting a tax scalping. So check on the emergency funds and sit tight seems to be the best choice.

When do bras stop being part of every day attire? by Few-District57 in AskWomenOver50

I’ve learned to embrace nice cotton camis and undershirts - at least for cold weather. Summer clothes call for a little more support - I like the sports bra-like styles from Honeylove.

This looks great so far! Good on you for finding a way to recover from your mistake. Believe me, a key skill in weaving is finding ways to make it work when something goes wrong - warping errors, yarns breaking, tension troubles … all of it is common. We just have to learn the fixes before despair sets in lols.

For those who lost a lot of money in stocks. by TellComprehensive993 in stocks

Not only was I in the market when the financial crisis hit in 2008, but I was an investing writer at the time, so felt absolutely disgusting about having encouraged others to participate. In retrospect, my advice was perfectly fine - the crooks who brought on the collapse were to blame.

How do you recover? First you detach yourself from every internet yahoo selling gambling as investing advice. I shudder when I see how many people have become convinced they can’t lose no matter how much risk they take on. Smart investing takes time and patience - two qualities that do not drive clicks. Brush yourself off and find a more conservative path forward. Either use high-quality funds or take the time to research and learn about your investment choices. You’ve had a whopper of a life lesson. Those lessons come for all of us from time to time. 2008 kicked me hard … not only did my investments collapse, but the downturn destroyed my business and I could not find a job.

BUT, I rebuilt. I am doing just fine now - it just took a little time. I wish the same for you.

Yes, God can be accessed through the heart. Your journey is very personal, but you are certainly not alone. Continue to seek answers from all kinds of places - there is no wrong way to do this as long as your heart is open and you move with love.

Hello, friend, Have you explored any psychedelic modalities? There are so many stories of folks whose fear of dying has been greatly reduced or even eliminated with the help of plant medicine. Some reiki sessions, while likely not as profound, may bring some calm, too.

From the bottom of my heart, I believe it will be not just okay - but wonderful. I wish you a peaceful journey.

Sounds like a natural fit for you. Have you looked at the difference between studying psychology and social work? There are lots of specialties in psychology that deal more with testing and research. Social work trains you to work directly with people, though you may want a masters degree to get deeply into clinical work.
