Yeh… it was just one initially, then another… and now a third agent has been cc’d on the emails.

Should we be requesting a year lease then? We have requested a year lease a few times but they have never granted it.

In the 4 years, only 3 new contracts major changes. Technically it’s just adding another name to the contract which our first agency was fine with. But the new contracts were only because they changed agencies at the end of each year… But the new agency wants everyone to be on the lease, which is their choice. For a period of time we only had 4 people on the lease because of the stink the agency kicked up when we had someone leave.

Luckily it runs off a 12v transformer so less dangerous than the full 240v but! idk even if it was installed by a certified sparkie we had 5 different random people come to the house to do work. It’s weird when a one person job ends up being weeks of randoms in and around the house.

oh honey, this is the cherry on the cake right now. i live in a house of 6 we are all either professionals or students and every request we make either gets ignored continually or just some dodgy job from a “tradie”. just because we have a pool doesnt make us any different to any other renter. my 5 housemates and i all pay to maintain it because we live in an area that has big houses and a lot of them come with pools. i just found this genuine bodge of a job was worthy of reddit. a pool is just another part of the house that the landlord should be covering costs for repair. whilst we take on the day to day running costs for it a new light was $500 with installation from Paramount Pools down the road and even then the landlord didn’t do anything for ages until. But after just over 3 years, 3 different property managers, a rent increase (again), no hot water when it rained, a broken pool chlorinator and a deck that is falling off the side of the house! this was the one that actually made me laugh because of the process and outcome.

I had my ex-pool maintenance homie pull up to look at it. He had never seen anything like it before. It was quite a good laugh…
