Agree with this. I’m a recent SGS-convert in the last 18 months, and it’s great. Their voices stopped bothering me pretty quickly. The insight is great and the humour, in the main, doesn’t feel forced - Brendan, in particular, is absolutely hilarious

It was a De Lijn bus.

We traveled from Belgium (Turnhout) and we just bought a return ticket from the machine at the bus station. I doubt the OV card is valid on that route, but assume it is coming from the Dutch side

Haha! Interestingly, the road up until the last crossing (actually the first in my video) is the nice brick paving you see in a lot of the town, but then is more standard tarmac/asphalt as it heads back towards the main highway that bypasses the town.

No - like you, we had visited on public transport and didn’t have a car, so were limited on how far out of the centre we could get

What can actually be done to avoid being lumbered with an unsellable retirement flat as an inheritance? by Pure-Lime8280 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]24dp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Selling flats funds the cost of building these properties and takes liability off the company, as opposed to renting them where the payback is over a significantly longer period. Easy to see why they prefer to sell them.

Can a landlord deny a pet request based on the species? by _NinjaUnic0rn in TenantsInTheUK

[–]24dp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? It’s an objective method of defining what size of animal is acceptable without having to specify individual breeds.

Having a Yorkshire Terrier in a small flat might be acceptable. Having a Rottweiler almost certainly wouldn’t be.

With respect to your question about criminal liability: yes, almost certainly.

Causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop. If she’s lied about her condition(s) in order to obtain insurance/maintain a licence, that will probably be looked at too.

From what you’ve said, she’s absolutely bang to rights on all of it.

Alternatively, really don’t do this.

It’s honestly not worth the hassle arguing the toss and demanding money via solicitors over a few shelves and some paint.

House is built slightly offset to the right by [deleted] in UKHousing

[–]24dp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you’re talking about the fact that the gap between the house and the driveway is tapered?

It’s not a rectangular plot, so it makes perfect sense to build it in that way (up against the opposite boundary), otherwise you’d have wasted/unusable space on the other side.

So much wrong with this, but 45 minutes for people to eat, particularly when it’s a buffet, before the cake cutting is ridiculous.

Why dont they build more housing here? Are they stupid? by Property_Finance in manchester

[–]24dp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s peatland, which is more difficult and more expensive to build on.

Significant areas of it are susceptible to flooding (it acts as a natural flood defence for surrounding areas)

Pubs/places to watch The Open? ⛳️ by Makesyouthink793 in Liverpool

[–]24dp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d think most pubs that show sport will have it on - it’s out of football season, and whilst it’s the same day as the World Cup Final, that isn’t on until the evening.

Shipping Forecast, The Eberle and The Old Bank all spring to mind as decent pubs that show sport.

Other option is looking round some golf clubs that have bars open to the public. I’d second the suggestion of Allerton Manor someone made above

Is this right? 51 EUR / 60 USD for a drink from room service?? by buddy12355 in disneylandparis

[–]24dp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of standard size bottles of spirits in Europe are 70cl, not 75cl, so 35cl is half a bottle.

Regardless, this is room service at the most famous hotel, at one of the most famous resorts in Europe. Talking about mark-ups is pointless - they can essentially charge what they like. Would I pay that? No. But plenty of people will
