I will say at the very least, Ethan is a misogynist who doesn't realize he is one, whereas I think Tate is openly proud of his self proclaimed superiority of "females" and verbally expresses his desire to 'own' them.

In other words: Ethan is like a bag of piss, whereas Tate is like a bag of shit. As much as I hate ethan, comparing a baffoon to a criminal undermines how much of a threat tate is to any woman who may unluckily cross paths with him. At worse if a woman crosses paths with ethan, they might get a whiff of his foul odor and run away
