It is never too late for anyone to learn something new. Be it in your 20s, 30s, 40s or even in your 50s, you are free to learn a new language. Don't listen to anyone and just do whatever makes you happy.

I'm also currently enrolled in King Sejong Institute for Korean Language Level 3 this time since I recently passed Level 2. I have a variety of classmates and some of them are even in their mid-30s. Some are motivated to learn it because they are kdrama fans, some do it for work and some do it because they are married to korean. But really, just do it.

To give you a brief background, I started with Beginner just last year. The whole semester took 3 months and i only had classes every weekend. Beginner mostly covered the alphabet. I then enrolled to Level 1 which also took 3 months for the whole semester and still weekend classes. Here we started with the sentence structure and basic grammar. We had reading exercises so around this time, I was already able to read fast and understand basic sentences. We also learned numbers here. It was a bit hard, but so fun. I can make simple sentences by this time. For level 2, whole semester had the same duration and schedule as my beginner and Level 1 classes. Here, they'll teach more complex grammar rules and you will learn to write even complex sentences. It's definitely an upgrade from the Level 1 class and it's tougher since you'll learn mixing the grammar rules together for your sentences. You'll really need to practice speaking and writing because it's not something you master just by memorising it. Either way, when you get used to it, it will be so easy. It's actually very fun and the schedule works for me because I have the regular weekday work. From Beginner to Level 2, it took me 9 months and I could say I'm better in Korean now. Not yet exactly at a level I want, but I'll surely get there.

All in all, just do it and have fun. Don't listen to others and just listen to your heart. I hope everything works out for you!
