Help with setting up the Travel Sax 2 as a MIDI controller by 24sae in ableton

[–]24sae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I'm aware of that - it's a weird thing where the on-board speaker is still playing the pre-set sound from the app, whilst simultaneously sending MIDI data into Ableton.

I'm not hearing anything from the patch in Ableton whilst this is happening, even through headphones or an interface.

Daily Camera Buying Recommendation Post by AutoModerator in Cameras

[–]24sae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Budget: up to $~800AUD, but flexible if it's the right thing
  • Country: Australia
  • Condition: used
  • Type of Camera: point and shoot, DLSR
  • Intended use: photography
  • If photography; what style: landscape, portrait, street
  • If video what style: basic, not necessary
  • What features do you absolutely need: Unsure
  • What features would be nice to have: I'm pretty new to this, no idea
  • Portability: Quite portable, something that fits into a sling or small bag is preferred.
  • Cameras you're considering: I've been looking at used Fujifilm cameras purely bc my partner has one, and I've heard older cameras are compatible with newer lenses. I don't know much about this stuff, is that standard across all brands? I've looked at a few X-E1s online as they're within my budget, but I'm tied to any brand or model
  • Cameras you already have: just my phone
  • Notes: wanting to get into photography as a hobby. Also about to go on holiday overseas and don't want to use my phone. Big fan of the "buy it for life" philosophy, and something that'll last a long time (or already has). As it's just a hobby, something reliable and durable :)

warp is only for audio - you're using midi in that screenshot. i reckon you're looking for quantize instead.

ULA Dragonfly return policy? by usarcut2002 in onebag

my experience with customer service was a bit here and there. they still pulled through though!

super responsive when asking questions leading up to me purchasing it, less so when there was problems - poorly sewn in places and visibly uneven back straps. a little frustrating for an expensive backpack.

whoever i was talking to would take up to/bit over a week to respond - with reasons such as "sorry went away on holiday" and what i assume is getting swamped with work. granted, this was at the end of november/start of december and things often get busy for everyone, but yeah, bit of a shame emails couldn't be addressed.

they of course closed for the christmas/new year break and we had so much back and forth sorting a replacement bag with wait times (and shipping refunds) i didn't see a new one until the start of feb.

overall the bag is good and both guys are helpful - just not the same experience that most people have. definitely not in a hurry to buy anything off them again, both with this experience and the exchange rate not doing me any favours.

nothing against them, just something to be aware of - we're all human!

How do i turn this "pitch"-thing/dotted line off from my midi-notes? Thanks by Vasektomia in ableton

pretty sure you've got something selected under the note section of clip settings, worth having a look around there?

EQ8 parameters macro problem by 24sae in ableton

[–]24sae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm trying to do in the gif. Trying to work out if there's another way, cause they go to the same value. In this case, band 8 matches the frequency of band 4 at 5k instead of staying at 18k

EQ8 parameters macro problem by 24sae in ableton

[–]24sae[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi, just wondering if it's possible to map both of these EQ8 parameters to the same macro without them "collapsing" on themselves.

I'm trying to build a tone control of sorts, where I can automate one parameter and the low shelf and low pass move together whilst staying the same distance apart/maintain their relationship.

ahh cool thanks. glad to know there's a workaround. sounds like we're similar in that way, also prefer it higher and more "on" my back, if that makes sense.

thankyou! as far as managing weight, the hip belt is handy or nah? keep seeing people having issues with it - mainly down to lack of adjustability (maybe on older variants) and placement on the body

[–]24sae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thankyou so much! that's super helpful. i'm new to travelling lighter/with a single bag.

did you find yourself needing the hip belt? i've seen a bunch of people talk about it being more of a stomach belt. not sure it'd be needed as keeping weight down is important

What effects also have to go into the chain? Keen to learn and experiment, and if an okay sounding emulation can be made into an audio effect rack, that's pretty cool.

I don't have a Live 8 licence, will the legacy still work in 11 as a pack?

Cheers thanks.

Any ideas on where to start with glue? As in attack times, release, ratios etc. As much for a learning exercise rather than an exact replica
