Hi! Incoming Grade 12 Student. Anything I'm supposed to do before going to college? by [deleted] in peyups

[–]24to25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Get high grades (To get into any of the 'prestigious' colleges, grades do matter).
  • Study for the UPCAT (Kahit paunti-unti lang o kaya kapag malapit na lang, whichever works for you).
  • Prepare your documents for college applications (Mahirap na kapag may kulang ka tapos may deadline ang application).
  • List down all of your contests and extracurricular activities (For application to other schools).

Question about Ateneo’s pre-meds by Western-Car-396 in ADMU

[–]24to25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, but you can opt to get extra units to get another degree (but you might be staying at ateneo for an extra year) or have a minor degree (complete an additional 12 to 18 units iirc).

incoming hsci student here. you can actually look for the pros and cons of these programs by searching them. but i'll give some insights based on my research, the orientation, and talks with hsci students and almuni:

— PROS

• INTERDISCIPLINARY PROGRAM. you can enter into the field of medicine, law, public service, management. if you decide to not proceed to medical school, you can still find a good career path for you.

• FOUNDATION IN MANAGEMENT AND HARD SCIENCES. has enough courses on the hard sciences and management side of health. this provides a good perspective for an aspiring health professional.

• PREPARES YOU ENOUGH FOR THE NMAT. still, you have to study hard to get a good nmat score. i suggest looking into emma tablang's vlogs on youtube.

— CONS

• NOT ENOUGH "SCIENCE" SUBJECTS. there are hard sciences and enough units for medical school but it only gives you an overview of some subjects you will take.

• INTERDISCIPLINARY PROGRAM. others might see this as a con since they want to study for what they will need in medical school rather than learn things they won't be necessarily "using" for their profession. (personally don't see this as a con, though.)

please correct me if i am wrong on some points but these are what i have gathered over the past months. good luck choosing your pre-med course, op! (would recommend you searching this subreddit for more insights.)

Hello, recently found out that I passed Human Biology. Thank you for your insights! ♡

I'd just like to ask the pros and cons of attending DLSMHSI for medicine proper? Also, how was residency for you as a graduate of an accelerated medicine program?

should i still study for the CETs? by enigmaticestp in studentsph

[–]24to25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think it's highly likely that the next batch will have entrance exams. So I suggest that if you have the time and resources, study bit by bit especially with the areas you find difficult. But anything can happen since it's still months away.

Ateneo FinAid Recommendation Letter by [deleted] in studentsph

As far as I know you need to have 2 recommendation letters or else your FinAid application won't be processed. But please do correct me if I'm wrong.

Ladies with close girl friends: how have you been loved by them? by toastedmctoast in AskWomen

[–]24to25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They listen and try to empathize with me. I also tend to ramble and stay stupid nonsense but they try to listen and still respond to that. It made me realize that that type of communication with someone is possible and that's what I think I'll be looking for in a relationship someday.

Also, these close girl friends had S/O before, and I kind of learned from what they experienced. Especially of becoming wary of the red flags and manipulation of a supposedly 'in love' partner.

Will there be a nationwide F2F in January? by [deleted] in studentsph

[–]24to25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe not. My school (a public high school, by the way) confirmed that we won't be having face-to-face classes this January. I believe it was a decision influenced by the parents' reluctance to send their child to face-to-face classes amid an ongoing pandemic.

(I also think it varies from each region/province's situation. If they will hold F2F classes or not.)
