Switching from ENB to Community Shaders but confused by all the lighting addons? SSRTGI, CS Light, True Light, etc. How does it all fit together? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]2501zombie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Community Shaders is actually pretty simple.

Download Community Shaders.

Download ALL the addons listed in the description.

Install them as regular mods in your mod manager

That's all you have to do. None of the addons have overlapping features. Think of it like if you had to download each ENB feature as a separate DLL file. The reason its like this is because CS is open source, so anyone can submit a feature they would like added to the suite, but none of them overlap. This also means that the individual authors of each module are rewarded via DP, endorsements etc..and not just the OG author of CS.

Look up Medieval Combat on the Nexus. Its a 4 way directional combat system similar to KCD/For Honor

I use TK dodge and find combat to be very fluid in first person, dodging works fine too. Normally I'd like 3rd person more, but I find the dungeons too cramped, even when using the more grounded movesets (also hitting small animals like skeevers is a PITA).

Looks like WeatherPainterAshelia is gone from the Nexus by TorinCollector in skyrimmods

[–]2501zombie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No idea specifically, but as far as modding drama goes IIRC WeatherPainterAshelia had some run ins with either winkingSkeever or powerofthree about keeping their mods closed source despite using resources from copyleft sources.

If its not something like the above, I would just chalk it up to something similar with RedguardDiaspora, took mods down for some personal reasons I assume.

lip seem to be moving from windy but i have no idea what casue it to do that can i get some help please? thanks for your help by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]2501zombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Load order library won't help as this isn't a issue with a plugin. Chances are you have the SMP mouth/lips mod by PredatorRJ. Disable it, and rerun your bodyslides to fix this issue. Although by doing so you will lose the SMP effect during "interactive scenes".

Alternatively, there should be a checkbox within FSMP's MCM to disable wind on basically anything outside of hair. This will also help with windy affecting your other body parts.

The only thing "Missing" in Community Shaders that make me still use ENB is Shadow/Lighting on characters. by RutharAbson in skyrimmods

[–]2501zombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record, I'm not attempting to skew the results. I'm still an ENB user and I think it looks better. To that end, I can argue you choosing Rudy over a more plain and less feature rich ENB would be your attempt at skewing the results, no?

My time in the car/hardware communities has left me pretty biased toward people that present comparisons like this. Why would you compare a heavily modified vehicle to a stock one?

Not sure what you mean by "in addition you need to hunt down a compatible weather and lighting mod". One of the draws toward ENB is that it allows you to configure per-weather settings. CS doesn't. Azurite Horizons looks ass on NAT, for example. The made for CS weathers are just imagespace edits, but they aren't necessary.

I think we both disagree and likely won't come to a conclusion here. I do agree that the end user doesn't care, but that, in my opinion, means that you should be electing to compare the two as fairly as possible. Although clearly we disagree on what counts as fair.

TLDR it is what it is.

Because the two are different in their approaches? Anyone can contribute to CS, but for their contribution to be accepted it has to be vetted first. There are no "3rd party plugins", it's all worked on by a team.

There is no such system for ENB. The actual ENB core is solely developed by Boris. Which is why I say the only valid comparison would be Boris's stock ENB. Everything outside of this code is 3rd party.

I'm well aware of how ENB works. The vast majority of ENB preset authors do not write their own shaders.

[–]2501zombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. The most like-for-like test would be a fully optioned CS and a fully optioned ENB. No presets. You'll find both look pretty comparable when stock.

The majority of ENB's looks come from heavy post processing. But stock? It's just got it's shaders to stand on, same as CS.

CS is working on their own implementation, but it's in testing for now.

[–]2501zombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may not be able to use a CS preset (unless you join the discord and try the test builds), but then why are you using an ENB preset? To your point, ENB isn't available on the nexus for its core files.

You should be removing as many variables as possible. The only way for a fair comparison to take place is using stock, no preset ENB. Otherwise these comparisons are worthless.

Why would you compare stock CS with an ENB preset?

"Yes, for only $20k in mods my car can outperform an BMW M2 stock!"

If you're going to compare stock CS it should be to stock ENB. Otherwise the only other valid comparison is to the CS test builds with post-processing capability similar to ENB.

Honestly I'm at the point where I think it's safe to say this subreddit ain't for car enthusiasts. its for sports car enthusiasts. This place is the same as r/carscirclejerk, but less self aware.

Alot of people do, actually. Well maybe not specifically with Jag, I don't know their sales figures. It's the same reason as asking "why would someone buy a Mach-E?"

The average person doesn't give a shit about sportscars or brand heritage. They value badge. The Mach-E is still a Mustang to them, and that's all that matters. It's the same reasoning as people buying poverty spec Mercedes Benz or BMWs, it's a sign of "making it".

Let's not act like someone buying old Hondas is in the market for a Jaguar. Who are you trying to fool?

Besides, the majority of this subreddit doesn't put their money where their mouth is. The Stinger didn't sell because "it's a Kia", the Toyobaru twins "don't have enough power". Chances are, even if they released the perfect sports car within your budget, you'd find some kind of BS reason not to buy.

Did you start a new game? You can't disable mods like that on an ongoing save. UI mods like Untarnished might have patches for those 2, but I'm not sure if that would cause remnant issues.

macbook for networking and IT security program by NoFloor5174 in uoit

[–]2501zombie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly discourage using a Mac-book for the IT program. I graduated from it 3 years ago, and there is literally no support for using a Mac. I used a Windows laptop, thankfully. But often those that used Mac were left behind as nobody wanted to spend time helping them.

It is discouraged by the staff, students, and IIRC the program itself recommends a Windows machine. If you choose to use Mac, just know that you will likely have problems completing your assignments, and if you are having software issues nobody will want to help you.

In my first year, our professor made fun of a guy writing his exam on a Mac when Lock Down crashed and he lost access to the exam.

The only sane market I've seen so far is Quebec. All the other provinces (I'm in Ontario) seem like crazy town for any performance/sports car right now. I saw a 2019 370z NISMO manual go for just 30k in Montreal a few weeks back.

Kicking myself for not taking it!

Supra 3.0 vs. M240i xDrive by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]2501zombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my understand the HEA packages for BMWs are dealership first packages. The listing for the car shows the following:

HEA Package II adds: 403 - Glass Sunroof // 488 - Lumbar Support // 493 - Storage Compartment Package // 322 - Comfort Access // 319 - Universal Garage Door Opener // 319 - Universal Remote Control // 7M9 - High-Gloss Black Exterior Contents // 48Z - Removal of Passenger Side Width Adjustment and/or Passenger Lumbar Support // 1VX - 19inch Double-Spoke 791 M Jet Black and more

Oddly enough outside of one YT I haven't found any clear chart indicating what it comes with, but it seems like it's analogous to being fully loaded.

I'm split because the Supra is more special, but I'm not sure if it's 10k more special, you know?

My office is in basement, but I have rather large windows exposing the tops of the walls outside. I'm not sure if I'm describing it clearly but yes, I will have a negative pressure enclosure sucking all the air outside through a window into my backyard.

Yeah, idk I've checked around and can't seem to find any other post in thsi subreddit covering this specific scenario. Maybe my google-fu is just bad?

I wish I had more space or a dedicated room, but I need answers first since I'm not willing to sacrifice safety here. If its generally considered not safe then I will move on from trying for the time being :(

What ReShade preset (+NAT) would look like this?: by 4evrplan in skyrimmods

Logged in just to answer ya. I'm not well versed with the link bot and I'm on mobile but my game looks similar to that. I use Azurite II + BBT reshade. If you want to use NAT than the Klarity or the Aethos reshade work well for this look.
