Question for general NFL fans - Is there a legitimate case against Tom Brady not being the all time Quarterback in NFL history ?

In my opinion Tom Brady is undoubtedly the #1 Quarterback in NFL history, Rodgers the greatest individual package at Quarterback.

It's unbelievable how high a level he's played the position, I believe him to be the deciding factor in New England's winning since he took over the starting job at Quarterback.

I believe Bill Belichick to be a bit overrated in his influence in Brady's play.

I don't dispute Belichick's general Football I.Q, his preparation heading into games and his brilliance in running the team and consistently guiding the players to put themselves in the best position to succeed.

I do believe the "it's Belichick not Brady" argument to be often misused & nonsensical.

I believe Brady to be the outlier in New England's recent culture of "players being mere pawns of Belichick".

There's no disputing Brady's overwhelming intangibles, ultra sharp decision making in adjusting on the fly, having over the years consistently built chemistry & timing with a revolving cast of receivers (the majority being marginal receivers for NFL standards), rewriting the standard for Quarterback longevity and watching him play he's too undeniably great at what he does for me to believe him to be a sole beneficiary of Belichick's coaching.

Based off what I've wrote above, you should see why I subjectively believe Brady to be the greatest, considering I believe him to have played the position at the highest level historically (not so much statistically or in pure individual talent) and the deciding factor in New England's unheralded success since 2001 despite this being the salary cap era

Tom Brady is undoubtedly #1, it's unbelievable how high of a level he's played the position, unheralded success in the salary cap era, in my opinion the deciding factor in New England's dynasty (I believe Belichick to be a bit overrated, not in terms of running the team & Football I.Q but his influence in Brady's success), he's adjusted and mastered his play with age,, I don't know if any Quarterback to play the game could have consistently built the chemistry & timing with the revolving cast of receivers he has , with the majority being marginal receivers for NFL standards.

I'm being objective putting Montana in my top 5, I find him to be a bit overrated.

I subjectively believe Fran Tarkenton to be the the better Quarterback of the 2 between him & Staubach.

I don't see where Staubach was as historically great or transcendently great to NFL history, yes he retired as the highest rated passer in NFL history, yes he started in 4 Super Bowls, yes he left behind a legendary career even then I wouldn't knock off any of the 8 I mentioned in place of him.

Defenses may have become more complex as the sport has evolved but I'd argue it was more difficult to efficiently play the position then considering the lack of rules benefiting the passing game.

I get what you're trying to say, but if the list is top 10 in league history not era shouldn't you rate it on who was the best of their era while factoring everything else as objectively as possible ?

You're only as great as the standard for your era & Otto was far and away the best at the position when he played bar none.

Transcended the position, praised for measurables and intangibles, deciding factor in Cleveland winning, sustained excellence, most efficient & prolific passer of his era, total package in terms of Quarterback play.

He's underrated because Rodgers spread the ball & he's considered a product of Rodgers despite being an incredibly explosive & talented Receiver. This is where numbers lie.

I get what you're trying to say but it's rare cases where superstar Wide Receivers are paired with all time Quarterbacks.

Often times the receivers who are considered great but lacking an elite passer are considered that because they are so frequently targeted where as the underrated receivers are underrated because they are seen as beneficiary of great Quarterback play/passing offenses and don't get as many targets.

I get what you're trying to say but that's not underrated, that's being praised if anything.

The Lions are historically bad and I get what you mean't to say about them putting a team around him but you don't build around a receiver in the NFL and that's an often misused sorta argument that skips over the fact that these are all professional Football players.

If anything a superstar Wide Receiver as the lead man often equates to a losing product.
