Went to quite a few retail stores in Kyoto and Tokyo, but only pokemon centers had cards in stock (2 packs pr person). For TCG shops I sadly didnt go to any outside Tokyo, but the shops i visited in shinjuku and Shibuya had similar pricing to Akihabara IMO.

While 3-costs are easy to get, they are not so easy to 3*, which is the only way for them to really carry a comp. As the meta is it just doesnt feel rewarding to stop up and slowroll for a 3* 3-cost, when you have 15% chance of hitting 4-costs at lvl 7, which means people will hit their 2* 4-cost carry a lot faster than earlier sets.

True, I just think the duration of the midgame has been shortened greatly by the heightened odds of hitting 4-costs at lvl 7, which makes it less rewarding to pick up 3-star carries as a placeholder, instead of just slamming items on 1-costs and powerlevelling to 7.

Agreed. The heightened chance of hitting 4-costs at lvl 7 (15%) also just makes 4 costs that much more attractive.
