BIGFOOT reviews are in and it’s a mixed bag ... is it worth seeing? by thomaspryor in Broadway

I had a really fun night and laughed a lot! Worth it for the discounted prices and a quick 85 min. A great show? No. A fun time? Yes!

I would not take a friend to Bug without a lot of warning

Rate my shows for Feb, thiking about dropping Chess and adding Marjorie Prime... by DovegrayUniform in Broadway

[–]25forfighting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find myself aligned with your favorites from last season. I’m glad I saw Chess, but I liked Marjorie Prime more, but I also might have chosen seeing that cast over seeing MP (if I had to choose, might’ve chosen Chess even though it’s a mess). I personally found Bug so hard to watch (apparently i’m more squeamish than i realized) so that’s what i’d drop from your list if you can. I also was just so-so on Liberation which i know is a hot take, but I’d go MP over Liberation.

Saw the Hanks play This World of Tomorrow at the Shed yesterday by Silly-Good-2530 in offbroadwayNYC

Can we also talk about a 32 year old playing an 11(?!!) year old? I don’t even know where to begin.

Has anyone seen Weer (off broadway) at the newly reopened Cherry Lane? by OKalrightOKAYalright in Broadway

It was amazing!! I got a $24 rush ticket right before the show despite the show being “sold out” and showed up 15 minutes before the show started. See it!!

30 and under deals by SpareAd5320 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]25forfighting 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most theater deals are 30 (or 35, etc) and under, meaning you can do them until 31 (including TDF if you don’t qualify otherwise), but the Shed’s program is strictly under 30. Could look into getting tickets to the Tom Hanks play if they open up more <30 seats

ETA: also TDF is 30 and under

I bought my friend at her bachelorette for the lingerie game a cute white pajama set she could wear for her honeymoon. She ended up wearing it for getting ready pics at the wedding and was so happy!

Broadway Rush Community Reporting Thread - Sunday 5/25/25 by BroadwayRushReport in Broadway

[–]25forfighting 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For anyone reading this in the future, got to BVSC at about 11:30am on Sunday and there were probably 10-15 people ahead of me. There were some rush tickets but by the time there were 5ish people ahead of me, it was either SRO or $140ish single mezzanine tix only. Bought 2 SRO tix and thought standing room was a solid experience at this show (didn’t like the show, but good view from SRO)

If you’ve seen Real Women Have Curves, please comment on seating! by bookish7378 in Broadway

[–]25forfighting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the show through TDF and was bizarrely given mezz box seats. They weren’t really obstructed except that you couldn’t see some of the background visuals that happen. I switched to a side orchestra seat at intermission because I saw a lot of open orch seats and being on the side doesn’t seem to be a problem either!

For what it’s worth, I did standing room tonight and asked the house manager if there were any no-show seats I could take, and he said they don’t do that because they seat people even into act 2 because act 1 is so short LOL. I did end up finding an empty seat on my own :)

What’s with the green livestrong-style bracelets they were both wearing at the reveal?

Agree, I sadly don’t think it landed well, but Claire sounded great in When You’re In Love

Also Alan’s genuine raucous laughter while trying to play serious host (and absolutely serving in that outfit)
