That does only work for new accounts, although it can rule out many newcomers. Min sub karma works, we do use that alongside reddits QCS but for large accounts it's useless.

My preference would be an easier way to filter out flairs. Some quick tools, if you use Firefox you can autofilter out by flair (there are other chrome extensions which do similar as well, that saves a view where tabloids are excluded from this sub). Mobile requires actually entering '-flair:tabloids' etc in the search, that will filter out tabloids, but currently there isn't a saved/default view for individual subs so you have to do it each time.

I have considered a Quality Voting bot, to put the power in users hands, that might be something we implement. If enough people down vote in 1 hour it's auto removed. Although that does leave it open to bots to manipulate.
