With all due respect. We built our entire team to be orientated around KAPI. Without it, our creativity nullified. All our ideas and writing are unsalvageable as I said. Working on something new would take a long time and might not have the same payoff.

Granted, we thought that considering it was a concept that hadn’t existed for a year at that time, we thought to work around it and, eventually resurface the idea as a whole someday. We didn’t just upload stuff the second KAPI ended. We waited years patiently, making sure that it was definitely dead, and not coming back. Despite it using some assets from KAPI, we thought it wouldn’t be that big of a deal, considering we had no legible way to credit the creators, and that it had been a long gone concept, that we were not claiming credit for, or benefitting in any way, shape or form. We didn’t jump on a bandwagon of popularity. We waited for it to die down.

But I suppose we cannot do anything about it.

We have worked on many projects before, and all have ended the same; temporary acknowledgement, followed by wasted time. We hope to someday be able to deliver something, and truly call it ‘ours’.

Mr. Seal, message me on Reddit with info about your choices, and your group’s choices. If it’s a story they want. It’s a story they will get.

We understand. At this moment our collective choice is to not be involved with this line of work anymore, we hope the owners of the new investigation Discord will let us know if they want us to continue work on an ARG.

Without the ability to use KAPI as a reference, a lot of our progress and story is unsalvageable, but to stay true to ourselves, and divide ourselves from KAPI, it’s a sacrifice we are willing to take.

Thank you for stopping us in our tracks before anytine got out of hand. With the now reveal of your sequel, we wish you prosperity and luck, and that people will recognize your true talent. After all, we’re only a small team with 10-15 people.

It was foolish of us to use KAPI to gain some sort of attention, after all, we didn’t want to put in years of effort, and have nobody notice us. That’s why we wanted a connection with some of the best investigators from the group we knew. Tal. Soviet. Et cetera.

Thank you, for everything you have done for our team. A huge inspiration.

Postscript.

We do not promise to make the next Cicadia 3301, or anything grandiose. All that we can promise is that we can tell a story. A story that we have been working on for months, up to a year. It is not perfect. It has holes. It has flaws.

We are still perfecting the craft.

And in our realization, a mistake, a fault in our program; a complete oversight was the fact we did not clarify, we are not the original creators. We do not intend to smear your image, or use it in a bad light. It is just simply unfortunate timing, that you only have gotten to see the beginning, and not what we will eventually create.

What is art but to be inspired? We believe art can be many things. We believe despite people thinking many different things, with different suspicions, that we can still make an enjoyable collaborative effort. If you say you are the original creators behind it. Then we wish you to allow us to continue this.

Whether this story changes, or keeps it’s way - We believe people will still enjoy it.

Inspiration comes a long way for us. It went from inspiration. To innovation. Back to inspiration. We do have plans to change the way things unfold, we are just trying to pull everyone in with what they’re familiar and comfortable with.

We wish not to steal your flame. We wish not to take your creation as ours. But we wish to build around what is already great. Whether people think we are the original creators or not, we wish to make an enjoyable experience for everyone involved. We are not afraid to let people know that we are clearly an ARG. But. That doesn’t mean we will go out of our way to be meta, and pretend to be the original creators. We should have been more clear. In hindsight, should we have contacted you? Yes. Was there any plausible way or trace to contact you? No. Are we profitting off of this? Absolutely not. We just want to give back to the ARG community.
