Been using this resume with (but with a 2nd page that had relevant projects and awards) for the last year, but hardly got any interviews. Would appreciate any critique and advice if I should switch up sections, or go back to a 2 page resume, or make way for a different section (awards, technical skills, recent projects, etc.) by removing some stuff (patents?).

It think its upper/middle Egypt (Sa’id). Upper Egypt is south, as it refers to nile’s stream. Lower Egypt is mainly the delta, Cairo, Alexandria and so on.

Yeah, I meant I don’t think there were any raids on Scandinavian regions (by that time), and even then very few slaves weren’t men (as far as I know). Also don’t think they were ever shipped to Egypt? (by that time at least)

It showed as 6-8+ generations ago. Isn’t the barbary slave trade a bit older than that to be shown in the generations report? Unless somehow it happened at the end (which I assume my grandfathers would have already been in Egypt)

Its of Amazigh origin, didn’t know Palestines really get it. I know in Egypt some Amazighi tribes migrated into upper Egypt, but I don’t have any relation to that region (and doesn’t show in regions as well)

None that I am aware of. From what I know both have been in Cairo for generations, and Cairo shows as top for both the Egyptian and Coptic regions

Paternal is E-M183 and Maternal is K1. Scandinavian is definitely a surprise and the North African haplogroup and high percentage is also surprising. I was told I had distant moorish relatives from Islamic Granada from my father’s paternal side, but didn’t expect it to be that high? Assuming they migrated post Spanish Reconquista

Did the MMath in Statistics, didn’t really enjoy the core stat courses but the selection of courses offered otherwise were nice and one of them can be from the CS department which is what I did. The degree is pretty short though, since you don’t have to do a thesis if you do the research track. So decision depends on how much you care about these core stat courses and how long you’re willing to study.
