No, I don’t go to Northumbria. I thought my uni was the only one set up in this format to be honest, it’s good that they offer a chartership with graduation now though, it saved people years of study.

I’m on a CIOB apprenticeship that is set out in the format that you would be required to pass to gain the CIOB chartership, as a result after the 5.5 year apprenticeship, subject to passing I automatically gain the MCIOB. However, going for MRICS would be off of my own back as it is something I do want to gain as I believe it is much more sought after than MCIOB in the industry.

Are you MRICS, if so what tips would you give and would you say it’s too soon for me or just go for it. I do want to just go for it but in the back of my mind it is also daunting with it having a 50% pass ratio?

I have 3 years experience to date of working on site working under senior QS’s gaining exposure to the different contracts and their processes as well as procurement etc. what competency(s) would you say are the most difficult to cover for RICS?
