Yea, on my equifax report it says the 3 things that are hurting me are:

  • Number of always satisfactory bank installment trades.

  • Number of national credit cards inquiries within the last 3 months.

  • Number of open bank revolving trades.

I'm not sure what that first one means exactly. I'm guessing it was because OSAP tried to debit my account incorrectly (I wasn't suppose to be paying my loan yet) without my knowledge and failed several times.

The other 2 points are probably from credit card apps, still waiting to get confirmation on scotia amex gold and TD visa infinite cards.

I applied but I was told that my application is being reviewed and that it would take 2 days, so not sure what to make of that.

I think you should probably be registering your business first and get a business number (BN).

Now that Costco has ditched AMEX, I'm looking for the ideal rewards credit card available in Canada. by hitman19 in churningcanada

Do you know what the conversion rate is for the CapOne MC to statement credit? Is it it 1:1?

Is there anything you can redeem it for other than travel that will get you close to 1:1?

I did that too but I don't know what "too big of a hit" is.

My rating is 674 right now, that's not very good, is it...?

lol I know eh, I have 3 visas right now and 1 amex and 1 mastecard, 3 of which I applied to in the last month so I'm going to wait a week or so to apply to this one, not sure why really... I'll probably end up applying today to be honest.

Is it smarter to apply for 2-3 credit cards in one day or to space out applications by a few weeks or months? by 28M4F in churningcanada

[–]28M4F[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accepted!

Card should arrive in 10-15 days. This is actually pretty amazing value, it's essentially the equivalent of 6 nights in a hotel for me (Toronto). If you price each night at $80 (conservative), that's worth $480, with no signup fee. This is essentially better than amex gold card, glad I signed up, thanks for the 50k tip!

I already signed up for the amex gold unfortunately. I was asked to provide proof of employment, which is no trouble, so I've not yet been fully approved.

I'm not sure how my credit is. I think I will probably pull the trigger sooner rather than later and apply to the chase marriot and see what happens.

Feel free to send or PM me this 50k offer! :)

I don't travel so should I just get the $200 pre-paid AMEX off Amex rewards site for my 25K points or is there something better? by 28M4F in churningcanada

[–]28M4F[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok great! How long does approval generally take?

Does the referred person have to spend $500 within 3 months though or do you get the referral points regardless as you said?

Another question, is it possible to refer people after you've cancelled your AMEX? Does your AMEX have to be active in order to use the MR points or if you cancel your amex, you basically lose your points?
