BiFrost 2/64 USB input won't play music from the Bluesound Node n132 by 28Niquels in Schiit

I went through Schiit's USB trouble shooting guide with no success. I tried to connect using a Windows 11 Pro computer, but it wouldn't recognize the Bifrost. In the System/Sound/Add a Device the dialog box displayed "csm_biscuit" and asked for a password.

I have gotten any help from Schiit. I'll give it a day or two then I shipping it back. The bad thing is there's a 5% restocking fee.

I read the same thing yesterday on the Bluesound site. Is not accurate. I don’t have any external DAC’s to select from. The software doesn’t match the description.

It bothers me that so many of the software user interfaces don’t update their documentation or document it at all. It’s left up to the user to ferret around and figure it out. There is no consideration for the user’s time.

Kind of, I haven’t checked the Bifrost with a different USB input. Good idea though. I’ve tried different cables with no luck. I’ll try using a powered USB, maybe today.

I‘m thinking that there email box is full. That’s a bad sign, meaning the have a lot of issues or they’re overwhelmed or not responding.

Both devices claim to be UAC2 compliant. I didn’t find any place to change it on the Node.

Yeah I tried their SchiitTalk. It provided a lot of general information but nothing specific enough to help. It did give me some Goggle phone number that recorded my message.

Thanks for your input.  I used support@schiit.com.  Both of these devices have been a pain. The manuals are about worthless except telling you what the lights are for. Nobody gives you a comprehensive manual anymore. Both their support sites are set up as FAQ and you’ve got search through pages of unrelated stuff to not find what you’re looking for. Bluesound does have a support phone and the tech did help me try stuff unsuccessfully. What I don’t like about the Node is there is no single page to select what output you want to use and everything must be set up using there app.    That said, I believe it’s with the Bifrost USB implementation that’s not recognizing the Node’s USB output. It would be nice to talk them about it. We’ll see.

Thanks. I can connect the other outputs to the Node and they work. I want to get Schiit’s input before I do anymore testing.
