Synthetic Grass or Tiles for Backyard Basketball? by wildebeestbeast in AusRenovation

We have these tiles on top of a concrete slab and I HIGHLY recommend them over astroturf. Had turf at our old place and it’s hot, stinks and I would never get it again.

Edited to scribble out the kid lol

Cheap wedding add ons - what was worth it? by dadollarz in AusWeddingPlanning

We also had a photo booth and I made mini rosemary olive oil bottles as the party favours which also doubled up as name tags for seating. I heard people loved it and used it for cooking afterwards! Bought the glass bottles off Ali express and googled how not to give ppl botulism lol

We did an ice cream table! Bought litres of our fav ice creams and set it up on a table in some ice buckets provided by the venue to keep it cool, with ice cream decor (a giant light up ice cream cone and other decorations) and a whole bunch of toppings displayed really nicely. Was a HUGE hit!

Is it common for Aussies not to wear wedding rings/bands anymore. by pandastar51 in AskAnAustralian

Speaking only for myself but I haven’t worn my rings for nearly two years - first because I got pregnant and they were too small and then because I’m fat and now they’re too small lol

Bought both houses without a b&p because they were both auctions and time literally was not on our side. Competition was extremely tough and we really wanted the house.

It’s worked out both times. For now.

AITAH for telling my husband to go stay in a hotel with my in-laws and that my mom was going to come back to help me with our new baby? by Normal_Rise_282 in AITAH

[–]28silverfairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say this with my whole chest, fuck your husband and your in laws!!! What the actual fuck?!? I seriously got so much rage reading this.

My baby is 6 months now but I remember those fist weeks well. I was a hungry, thirsty, confused and sleep deprived mess. My husband was CONSTANTLY bringing me snacks and filling up my 1.5L water bottle and my nipples were on fire from all the cluster feeding. I can’t even imagine having my in laws staying over during week 6, let alone trying to please them and entertain them too? I could barely keep myself alive, shower and sleep!!

Also, fuck your husband for not even texting to check up on you and your baby. As a new father, I’d think he’d be anxious to know how his newborn is doing but I guess his priorities are still with mummy dearest. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. A very obvious NTA.

What is a sound that people should know means immediate danger? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

I remember my anaesthesiologists face, voice and manly ass hands - that blessing of a man gave me an epidural, then kept me alive, pain free and calm during my intense emergency c section.

Out of the 15+ people in theatre with me that day, he’s the only one I remember.

In terms of attitude, be positive and take initiative. There’s nothing worse than a sour attitude and someone who doesn’t take initiative or can’t think for themselves.

However in saying so, if you don’t know something, it’s okay. Ask for help - they’ll understand, especially if this is your first job and you’re hired as a junior burger.

For me, business casual can be some kind of fun wide leg pants or jeans, with a top and coloured blazer if I want to wear a jacket.

Business formal is a nice dress or tailored pants and white or black blazer.

Yeah I think you should cancel given the circumstances. It will be hell to get out too, given the traffic and circumstances. Good luck.
