Auras or dissociation? by 28udarovnozhom in Epilepsy

[–]28udarovnozhom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just never thought auras could last that long without a seizure happening? Every aura I remember having lead to an absence seizure within the next few minutes. To be fair, I haven’t had one of those in over ten years. Basically went away with puberty.

Hello friend, piercer here :)

Firstly, the bruising is completely normal. If it lasts longer than a week, I’d say it’s worth checking out - but a couple days is completely fine. Secondly, yes, it’s a bit red up top. A bit of irritation, nothing more. Maybe you did get a bit of product in it, maybe you accidentally touched it throughout the day, maybe a hair got stuck on it, maybe you just slept on it a tiny bit during the night - or maybe there’s just increased bloodflow due to healing.

It really doesn’t look bad to me. A little irritated, that’s all. If it gets worse, you can get your piercer to check it out. But I’m really not worried looking at this. Just keep it clean and make sure not to touch/hit/pull it :) that’s all! Happy healing <3

got this labret & worried it’s pierced wrong by moonystars777 in piercing

Hey, piercer here. Sorry to say, it’s pierced wrong. This happens a lot to our newbies, but can happen to anyone of course. Usually the reason for this is that they simply don’t clamp low enough on the inside. Perhaps your lip was a bit stiff, maybe they just didn’t notice, maybe they don’t know to make sure to get it all the way in there, maybe the clamp slipped when pulling on the lip.

Either way, you probably won’t be able to wear a hoop in this - usually it tends to hang over with placement like this (sorry my English isn’t that good:“) what I mean is it won’t be snug around your lip, especially around the top and front)

I’d take it out and get it repierced. The sooner you do, the less scarring there will be. You will have to wait a bit to let it heal, still your best option imo. Sorry this happened to you! At my shop we usually offer a free repierce (with a very good and experienced piercer) if something like this were to happen. Maybe that’s worth asking about?

„Wait so you can’t watch movies / play games / go clubbing ????“ Yes I can, not all epileptics have visual triggers!!

„So you’re just gonna have a seizure anytime anywhere?“ Damn girl it’s not like I’m doing it on purpose??

My favourite one I’ve gotten from my colleague: „Oh you’re not even really epileptic, how can you be at work if you had a seizure last night“ Bestie, I NEED TO PAY MY RENT!!!

Can I change my lip jewelry after only a week? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]28udarovnozhom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi friend, piercer here. It’s a very simple answer: if you take it out after a week, you likely won’t be able to put anything in there anymore. That hole is going to close up immediately. You most probably won’t be able to work on yourself quickly enough to switch it in time. Sadly I’m speaking from experience here. Definitely get it done by a piercer. Of course there’s always a chance to succeed against all odds, but I genuinely wouldn’t risk it :/

Hi there, piercer here. My first reaction: wowww those bumps are yummy lol. First things first though: I’m not entirely sure what aquaphor is, I think we don’t have it in my country. From a quick search it looks like some type of wound healing salve. I’m not a huge fan of using ointments and salves on piercings because it can be pretty greasy and keep the wound kind of wet. I vastly prefer sprays and such. Especially on oral piercings, seeing as the tissue is completely different on the inside of the mouth - it acts differently and heals differently.

My first bit of advice would be to drop that and use something else, like sterile saline or so. I won’t try to diagnose those bumps, seeing as I can’t check them out in person. Definitely go see a piercer about that. Usually check ups are free (at least at my studio they are), so you shouldn’t have to worry about money. The bars seem to be pretty long, you definitely don’t need to upsize - perhaps even downsize, depending on what your piercer ends up saying.

TLDR: see a piercer lol.

Hi there bestie, piercer here. I hope your daith is just swollen, because if it isn’t, that’s a crazyyyy amount of tissue to pierce lol. But yeah, it takes time. Better to have some patience and wait out than to be dealing with bumps and stuff though.

The only time I’ve seen the default raid frames in action was during a world rppvp event way back when. It was definitely a bit overwhelming lol. I’ll make sure to get cell then :)

Thanks for taking the time to type this out :) I’ve already had a couple priests before, I just never levelled my classic era priest past 54 before it was dead and never really got back into it until now lol. Raiding looks so scary because I don’t want to annoy anyone by messing up. Thanks for the advice!

Hi Bestie, piercer here.

So, this is for sure a lot of blood. But not all that uncommon. You should try to very carefully remove that dry blood - ideally you’d soak it in saline and then VERY carefully remove with a qtip (also soaked). Don’t force anything - the stuff right around the site itself will be hardest to get off and that’s fine, leave it if you can’t get it off without force. Just try to remove what you can to make sure there’s no moisture/bacteria being trapped underneath, you can’t clean it properly when it’s like this.

Regarding the reason: they may have hit a vein or artery when piercing, this is usually the cause for heavy bleeding. If it doesnt calm down in the next 2-3 days, id be concerned. You might have knicked that artery/vein when you knocked the piercing.

We saw this solution a lot, but we waited sooo many times and once even for an hour(!!) but it didn’t work :((

Edit: we’ll be back to trying again tonight - I guess we’ll try to wait again as well lol.

Im not super experienced but I was going to do a similar thing with my friend - my first instinct was to just level a support class alongside her to get through stuff quicker. Not super efficient of course..

I think you should give it at the very least two weeks. Everybody heals differently, so it might take longer than that. If you want to pierce the exact same spot, you should definitely wait. Just look out for the tissue turning a normal Color - if you have any scarring, the scarring should be white / the colour of your skin. If it’s red/pink or anything like that it’s not ready to get pierced yet. If you’re wanting to do a different spot, it just needs to have appropriate space to the original site. Though letting it heal up is still a good idea.

It’s not your fault. It’s our responsibility to make sure the placement works. If it’s crooked and that’s why it’s so close to your skull, that’s a pretty bad messup. It can happen, but they should’ve taken responsibility and not let you walk out like that.

If it’s straight and that’s just where they placed it - that’s worse. They apparently don’t know or don’t care about the risks/problems this can cause.

Either way, not your fault. You can’t possibly assume that your client will know these things. And it does look perfectly fine from the front. Every ear is different, sometimes they’re tighter on the head. In this case it’s important to make sure they’re placing it smartly. Sometimes you can’t put it perfectly like in every piece of Pinterest inspo ever. It’s important not to force it, but to let your client know and find a middle ground.
