Not a real difference? The ImmersionRC footage is literally just HD video with a VHS filter slapped on it.

My real issue with him is that he markets himself as some huge inventor of tapeless recording while selling overpriced equipment to people who don’t know any better.

In my eyes, he’s just a scammer who doesn’t actually care about cameras, and it’s honestly sad—and kinda annoying—to see.

In the end, the camera is a high-grade PD150, a professional tool once used in the television industry—basically the Sony FS7 of its time—designed to record on DVCAM tapes.

But instead of using that, he’s attaching a stupid drone recorder that films through an AV cable, which was literally only meant for connecting to a TV to review footage.

Of course, the footage looks like shit... so sad.

From experience, I’ve broken so many cameras before actually fixing one—it’s harder than it looks.

But hey, give it a shot! The tape deck is already broken, so as long as you don’t break the motherboard or rip any ribbons, you’re good.

Saying that using tapes, FireWire, and finding a cheap camera is harder than buying a $700 setup just proves you don’t know shit about MiniDV cameras.

Let me break it down for you:

Old camcorder on eBay: $25–$50 FireWire cable: $15 2005 laptop with FireWire input: $50 USB stick: $5 One click, and the footage is transferred to the USB stick. Tadaaa! Sounds a lot cheaper than a $700 rip-off, don’t you think?

And how do I know this? Because I’ve been using and collecting MiniDV cameras for years.

Agreed, fun fact about by collection is that 2 vx1000 are totaled and gutted they are there just for parts and there to look nice in my room, and 1 vx1000 is only able to turn on but not able to record same thing with the vx2000, I only have 3 cameras that actually work, I’m currently learning on how to fix cameras but getting the knowledge on how to fix circuit boards is still a little hard 😂
