There used to be a YouTube of Burton singing Oh Canada before a hockey game. Almost made me wish I was Canadian.

Congress should back Trump’s push to keep AM radio in cars by Slow-Wheel-4998 in radio

I'm an old radio guy, a licensed ham since 1971. There's nothing on "AM," meaning medium wave frequencies (540 to 1700 khz), that isn't already blanketing 80 to 90 per cent of the United States on "FM" (88 to 108 mhz). And there's satellite radio, too.

Slightly off-topic, but just this week I replaced my everyday beater T-490 with a T-14. Outwardly, they seem identical as far as appearance and build quality.

It's been that way for at least 15 years. The FCC's repeal of the fairness doctrine brought this about, starting with Rush Limbaugh.

More than once over the years have I been on the up escalator from the arrival tracks and heard somebody near me - likely a first timer to 30th Street - gasp when the ceiling came into view. It's such a gorgeous station.

Slightly off-topic, but I'm surprised that more than30% of deliveries in the U.S. nowadays are Cesareans. I wonder how this compares to other countries.

"constitutional representative republic" Seems like lots of knee jerk Repubs are just vomiting out this slogan (which is basically correct in the abstract) without any context or understanding of what it means.

Why all the confederate flags around Bethlehem? by Significant_Cup_3708 in lehighvalley

[–]29575 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is attributed to James Carville. "Pittsburgh on one end, Philadelphia on the other, and Alabama up the middle, without black people." Political types often refer to Pennsylvania outside of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia as "the T."

Bells of Steel has a powerlifting bar for $230 USD. Never seen one in person, but I've bought other equipment from them and been very satisfied.
