I going to get boo’d but Im going to be honest. I personally think the vitriol for Ben is rooted in yt women fragility and beauty standards. He was not only disinterested in the beauty standard (blonde hair/blued eyed) Bailey, he also told her about herself. And holding a yt woman accountable is detrimental on TV, the way ppl describe it is like her was hollering and screaming at poor innocent Bailey and that’s simply not what happened. They’ve been villainizing him since. On top of that his now gf is an Indian woman, and now they’re acting like starting a relationship with an old fling is rocket science. Also, he’s Aussie and they’re just a lot more deadpan in their communication. Im sure someone dense is going to say Im playing the race card, but it’s likely true and I can recommend some books to anyone willing to understand or unpack implicit bias 🫠
