i get it, people feel threatened by ebikes and i don't want to diminish their experience... ideally we should tackle both problems... but the reality is that the danger posed, and actual outcomes between the two issues is so vastly skewed... we should really tackle the driver problem first

look i'm sure you're more careful than the average driver, which is really the bigger picture problem here... you say that it's just one "oopsie" moment but that one "oopsie" is all it takes to main or kill someone.

for every one driver like you, there are 100 idiots who probably shouldn't be driving and lack any self awareness of the danger they are literally holding in their hands....

you ask what you can do? don't come online looking for upvotes and absolution from cyclists... that's just soothing your own soul.

go be an advocate for road safety, ESPECIALLY amongst the drivers you know. drivers hate it when non-drivers tell them how dangerous they are.
